FRC’s Giant Fail Of A Response To Its New ‘Hate Group’ Designation

Having mounted a counter-attack to being named a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center, the Family Research Council yesterday deployed its chest-thumping response, with ads in Politico and the Washington Examiner painting anti-gay groups are the true victims of the radical homosexual agenda. Yesterday’s full-page paid open letter placements (PDF) were “signed by more than 150 organizational leaders, Members of Congress and other elected officials,” notes FRC in a release, and demands a “vigorous but responsible exercise of the First Amendment rights of free speech and religious liberty that are the birthright of all Americans.” Um. Since when did SPLC recommend limiting these groups’ free speech rights?

SPLC responded to the announcement with this statement:

Despite the claims made in today’s statement, the SPLC’s listings are not in any way intended to suppress these groups’ free speech. We’re not asking that these groups be silenced or punished in any way. What we are doing is calling them out for their lies. There is nothing wrong with labeling an organization a hate group based on what they say. A simple example illustrates the point: If a neo-Nazi group said all Jews are “vermin,” no one would argue with our characterizing it as a hate group.

Neither are we mounting an attack on individuals or “groups that uphold Judeo-Christian moral views,” as today’s statement suggests. In fact, as we say in our article dissecting the views of these groups, “Viewing homosexuality as unbiblical does not qualify organizations for listing as hate groups.” Instead, as we explained there, “the SPLC’s listings of these groups is based on their propagation of known falsehoods — claims about LGBT people that have been thoroughly discredited by scientific authorities — and repeated, groundless name-calling.”

But while the “Start Debating / Stop Hating” letter calls for the end of “hateful rhetoric attacking individuals and organizations,” it’s a memo that Bryan Fischer of the American Family Association, an organization whose representatives signed on to the letter, didn’t get. As Alternet notes, Fischer went off on one of his typical anti-gay rants during a David Pakman Show radio interview, exclaiming: “The Southern Poverty Law Center belongs on its own list [of hate groups]…for peddling falsehoods about homosexuality … We’re the ones telling the truth about the link between homosexuality and pedophilia … Active participation in the homosexual lifestyle will deprive a male of anywhere between 8 and 20 years of his life expectancy … There is ‘no such thing as a monogamous homosexual relationship’ … ‘The rectal wall is one cell thick.'”

From the look of that list, it appears that our new Government / leadership is fully on-board with being part of a hate group.

Will Obama, the Congressional Dems and most state-elected Democrats yield their power to these repugnant f**ks? You bet your life they will. Oh, they may give a nice speech or pretend to be offended; but, after seeing their “powerhouse” moves when they owned the: Presidency, Senate, House and state majorities, I’d say that “we the people” are f**cked.

“We the people” are the middle-class, the, poor, the blacks, the jews, the gays, the educated, the hispanic, the women, the religious minorities, the individuals who are outspoken.

Look at the list. They are rich, (self-appointed) religious, white, straight men. If you are not in that category, you are f**ked.

Fischer goes through great strides, even within the first minute, to prove why they’re hate groups. He completely ignores FACTS about pedophiles. There are countless studies which prove the vast, vast majority of men who molest boys identify as straight (as in they’re NOT attracted to adult men but to women) yet he refuses to see the difference between having sex with an adult man versus an little boy. OMG!!!

It is insane these groups, by trying to prove how they’re not a hate group, are proving the points so right-on-the-head.

      btw, David Pacman is HOT!!!!

I called one of these groups listed. The woman who answered started on about gODD. You know, traditional values blah blah blah. I stopped her when she said i had no gODD. I told her that she had no right to interpret a universal supreme being as their weapon to hate. She then spoke of ex gays. I stopped her and asked where are all the ex straights? She admitted when i would not stop that there are ex straights. I said she was going to have to defend her beliefs since she was the one attacking gay people. She spent the whole conversation saying “you people” and i told her that i am one person that cannot speak for all gay people anymore than she speaks for anyone but her religious fantatical non profit. I told her she was an ignorant mess after i said to relay my message that i do not appreciate the organization she works for offering support to a designated hate group. CLICK.

This was an amazing interview. It truly is nice to see someone put these people on the carpet like this. The interviewer had done so much research, and was able to defeat this guy at every turn. Maddow and Oberman should call this guy for advice when they do similar interviews.

Oh, and it doesn’t hurt that he is amazingly hot. I’m guessing he is Jewish? Jewish men are hot!
