“Gay Abuse” Mystery In SA
South African gossip-mongers are working overtime today. Singer Robbie Klay alleges another celebrity, who he didn’t identify, sexually abused him as a child: “Klay claims that he and the man engaged in ‘oral sex, masturbation up to three times a day, pornography and nude photographs’ for over seven years from the age of ten.” [Mamba]

Reports in the SA papers say that the alleged perpetrator, himself one of the biggest names in that country’s celebrity pantheon (forgive the oxymoron) is currently abroad. If this is a clue, it’s pretty easy to figure this one out …

When (white Afrikaans) South Africans speak of celebrities, they mean people who might be able to spell their own names.

And, yes, I speak thus because ’tis true.
A certain – ahem – singer, Jurie Els, applied for an urgent injunction preventing a tabloid magazine, “Huisgenoot”, from identifying the supposed abuser. He succeeded, he got the injunction, so we don’t know who the perpetrator is: since the identity of the applicant, Els, wasn’t embargoed, we must assume it was someone very close to him. Very, very, very close.
Said singer has just a few weeks ago decamped to New Zealand with his pregnant wife (Olympic silver medallist high jumper), and baby child – partly owing to the levels of crime in his native country.
One couldn’t have dreamt any of this up.

Rapport, an Afrikaans Sunday newspaper, reported that the alleged “oom” is indeed Jurie Els, as Mr Meiring above alluded to. :P haha
