As long as there has been celluloid there's been a closet, and since there is still a BIG price to be paid openly queer, (especially for a leading man) it isn't going to change in my lifetime. For the most part it really isn't THAT much of a secret, rumors circulate fairly regularly about the closeted celebrities.
