In the first arrest under Zambia’s tough anti-gay laws, police have arrested a gay couple after their relationship was reported to authorities by family members of the men.
James Mwape, 20, and Philip Mubiana, 21, have reportedly been living together in the northern town of Kapiri Mposh for a long period of time.
“The two have been charged with the offence of sodomy or having sex against the order of nature contrary to the laws of Zambia,” central province police chief Standwell Lungu said.
According to police, Mubiana played a female role in the relationship, and dressed like a female on occasion, which is what led to relatives informing the police of the couple’s relationship.
How about we take this to the next level?
