Gay "Date" T-Shirt Leads To Gym Ban

California resident David Cano may seek legal action after California Family Gym booted him for wearing a shirt reading "I need a man or a date," which they deemed inappropriate. It could have been much, much worse – it could have said, "I need a dick in my ass, "Plunge that fist!" or something lewd like that.

I guess my "I Suck Papi Cock" t-shirt would be out of the question.

Sorry but you're not gonna get my sympathy or support on this one.

It is frivolous lawsuits like this that clog up our legal system and encourage lawyers to waste our time and money. It's called the California Family Gym. Did he really feel that was appropriate workout wear? If the place was called Sons Of Israel Gym would he have worn a T-shirt saying "Hitler: From The Closet To The Bunker"?

If David needs a man or a date (as I desperately do as well) wearing that T-shirt in a family gym is wasted advertising. He should be happy they banned him. Now he can find a predominantly gay gym and wear his walking billboard in front of an appreciative audience.

yeah… umm… i'm going to have to go with the gym on this one, mainly because his shirt was just so damn tacky. and considering that the gym is a private business, they have the right to refuse service/membership to anyone… and that includes the shamelessly desperate.

just tacky.

tacky, tacky, tacky.

I would NEVER join a gym that was obviously aligned with the fundies (although maybe Cano took "family" to mean something completely different. All the same, Cano prob knew he was stirring up the shit with his t-shirt, and at least now their idiocy is being exposed.

I belong to a mostly straight gym that always plays hip-hop music. One time I was on the treadmill and that song "Lick my front, lick my back, lick my…" came on. It goes into all kinds of gynecological detal–I almost lost my lunch.

Wow, so Alan and Dawster think that the message on that t-shirt was tacky and offensive? Self-hating gays – gotta love 'em.

i didn't say it was offensive, i said it was tacky.

i don't know how you got "self-hating" out of my joke, but the only thing worse than self-hating gays are the jump-to-the-wrong-conclusion gays.

It's called the FAMILY GYM – and it ain't your kind of family, so why did you join anyway? To cruise closeted republican dads???

It is not a frivolous lawsuit at all. Why does "family" mean he can't wear a silly t shirt. Gay people are part of families too. Gays siding with the gym… very sad.
