Gay DNC Treasurer Andy Tobias Addresses Convention

The gays are all over the Democratic Party’s convention!

Prior to Ted Kennedy’s gay shout-out, treasurer Andy Tobias addressed the crowd to discuss – what else? – the economy. In addition to discussing our nation’s mounting financial troubles and how his party’s the best for our collective coffers, Tobias took time to highlight his homo ways:

As a gay man, I yearn for a president who believes in equal rights for all Americans. But most of all, as an American, I yearn for a president that the world can root for and be inspired by. Because having much of the world on our side again would not only be good for our national security, it would be good for business.

The crowd went wild…

On another note, who chose the convention’s intro music?

I was so thrilled last night to see how often the “gay” topic came up and especially when Kennedy put it in his speech.

I congratulate Tobias for saying “Gay”, especially in view of the anti-gay CEO Leah Daughtrey’s control of the convention.

hey did you know Tobias wrote the cheesy gay ‘classic’, Best Little Boy in the World? Did you know that he wrote it under an alias as to ‘protect his identity’?? He finally publicly acknowledged his authorship of a book about the importance of being honest and true to oneself, 20 yrs after it was written.
just saying…..

Yes, having Rev. Leah Daughtry running the thing and giving the welcoming speech is a good reminder there are Dem. homophobes too. So good for Tobias, and good for Hillary Clinton.

I would not say “The Best Little Boy in the World” is “cheesy.” Both it and the sequel are autobiographic and meaningful to many.

Best little boy in the world is a crap book.
Autobiographical doesn’t make it worth reading. And meaningful to many? Please, people have Harry Potter covers tattoo’d on their ass. Meaningful and important is in the eye of the beholder. Let’s hope sites like Queerty and the multitude of queer voices on the web keep questioning gay youth from having to resort to archaic drivel like Best Little Boy for identification and guidance.

NOT to mention that Bangs was ripping on him for being a hypocrite, not a bad writer. Cheesy isn’t an insult and, in this case, very generous.
