Jackson TN Euthanasia reports that a pit bull was abandoned by his owner for the love that dare not bark its name.
The unlucky pooch faced death today:
This guy was signed over to RC, not bc he’s mean or bc he tears things up, but because… His owner says he’s gay!
He hunched another male dog so his owner threw him away bc he refuses to have a “gay” dog! Even if that weren’t the most assinine thing I’ve ever heard, its still discrimination! Don’t let this gorgeous dog die bc his owner is ignorant of normal dog behavior! He’s in kennel 10L and he WILL be put down tomorrow bc there is no room at the inn!
Luckily, Facebook user Stephanie Fryns contacted the kennel and arranged to adopt the little guy.
Fryns posted on S.TA.T. (Saving the Animals Together)’s Facebook page that “there is a lady in IL who is going to help with fees and some that are going to help with vetting.”

On the other hand… it would be a neat trick, if you *cannot* keep a pet or find someone to take him, to publicize as the reason something that will outrage enough people to all but guarantee his adoption. I’m not saying that’s what happened here.

I am so glad to hear this beautiful pup was adopted. I used to work at a no-kill cat shelter. The owner told me about a woman who returned a cat because it didn’t match her home decor! It’s unfortunate that ignorant idiots like her and this guy who rejected this pup are allowed to have pets in the first place.
As a kid, I used to have a pet daschund that would hump anything…briefcases, people’s legs, our fixed male cat…he was a true horndog who provided many hilarious and embarrassing moments. Comes with the territory of owning a pet.

I wonder if it’s the water? Or is it that nagging feeling I always have of southerners just not getting over the fact that they lost the war. @tjr101: Nah, this smells like a black thing. Could be wrong but I’d be willing to bet I’m not. I’m black and hail from Chicago’s South Side. Dog fighting is a hidden subculture of poor/working class black culture, and young black men who come from that world consider dogs like pit bulls an extension of the hyper-masculinity they feel the need to project. I’ll bet the guy considers himself a straight-up bad-ass gangsta when actually he’s an ignorant jerk.
