Gay Group Raises Smoking Questions

England’s Gay Men Fighting AIDS claims that smoking can have even deadlier effects on people infected with HIV. And it’s not because of a compromised immune system, they say: “HIV treatments are working to extend the life expectancy of people living with HIV, but these can have a health impact of their own and so it is more important than ever that those who are infected with HIV take care of themselves and their health.” [Pink News]

I smoked for 23 years, had gotten to the point I was waking up in the middle of the night needing a cigarette. New Year was my 7th anniversary smoke free. As hard as the first three years were it has been worth it. I quit and keep quitting everyday. I still miss it, but now I’d rather miss it than do it.
