Gay Iranians’ Lives Hang In Balance

Iran continues to repress its gay citizens, including, Hamzeh Chavi and Loghman Hamzehpour. The two teens were recently arrested for “sodomy” and as “enemies of Allah”. If convicted – well, they die. This petition may not do any good, but it’s better than nothing.

Why should this come as any surprise? This is what the world is like in most of the Middle East, especially Iran. And while some attention is given to these human atrocities by U.S. based organziations, it’s not enough. Far more is given to hating Bush than hating the execution of gays (FOR BEING GAY) – which is integral to sharia law and the governments that practice it.

By the way, the post begins “Iran continues to repress…” and then goes on to explain that if these kids are convicted, they will be hanged. That’s sounds more severe than repression.

A ban for the death penalty is better then nothing
And torture is prohibited, is it not?
