The “crank” explained how the call came about on another web site. He referred to it as a “honey trap.”

He met Matt Sanchez on Craig’s List and got his attention by sending him some military porn. You can tell from listening that Sanchez is really and truly interested in hooking up with this guy. He wasn’t trying to expose a stalker, he was trying to get laid.

Can’t say I totally agree with the other man’s tactics, but someone as vile as Matt Sanchez deserves to be exposed for what he really is now that he’s trying to make money by demonizing gays — or anyone who is simply gay friendly. He’s spent the past few days gay bashing Heath Ledger, practically gloating about his death.

Matt’s story is flawed. The guy does not come off to me as a stalker. Matt is talking about how “it’d be hot” at the beginning of the call like they’d get together. Okay, you’re honestly trying to meet up with your stalker?

Maybe it’s a question of semantics. I can see how the guy is probably someone trying to snuff Matt out. Could be military trying to implicate or a reporter. Not a stalker.

Matt, quit talking to the guy if you so don’t want to be “stalked”! It seems to me like you’re still conducting “business” and are fending off the snakes at your ankles. Fine, but it sounds far-fetched to be talking about stalkers when you obligingly talk about “pics” and when he can call you again.

It seems to me that Sanchez is blackmailing the guy and sending a message to any other Marines he has had sex with to be quiet or else.

Plus, if Sanchez is so much against the gay ‘lifestyle’, then whey didn’t he immediately report this avowed homosexual Marine Recruiter to CID for prosecution of UCMJ violations? Instead, Sanchez becomes a co-conspirator and is impeding any investigation.

This all sounds very iffy. The caller is definitely faking. The guy on the other line sounds like he couldn’t care less or just doesn’t believe him.

The caller also sounds really old to be a recruiter picked for “looking good.”

Just my opinion, but I don’t think this is a real call.

If this guy is supposed to be a Matt Sanchez stalker, why is Matt Sanchez pretending that he’s not Matt Sanchez?

Halfway through the conversation the “stalker” says that he thought he saw Sanchez’s picture on a military site about a guy who’s reporting from Afghanistan. (Sounds like Matt Sanchez’s blog.) But Sanchez is like “Naw, that wasn’t me. I look like a lot of people. I get that all the time.” This couldn’t possibly be a “celebrity” stalker because Sanchez is clearly working incognito here. And it’s so obvious that Sanchez is a willing participant who wanted to get laid.
