We had our fingers crossed, hoping it would happen. But every article we came across continued to stress the word “possible.” We weren’t holding out much hope and weren’t completely schocked when Brazil’s highly-anticipated gay kiss on the show America didn’t happen.
The show’s creative types mouth off:
“Marcos Schechtman [the director] and I made the scene – it was recorded,” America screenwriter Gloria Perez told Globo newspaper.
“We fought for it and I cannot deny that I was frustrated that it wasn’t shown. The actors also were [frustrated]. After all, they had staged it with much enthusiasm,” she said.
So we have those evil network executives at Globo TV to blame for denying us some lip-locking action from Bruno Gagliasso and Erom Cordeiro. Or do we?
Globo TV had denied having cut the scene, saying it had broadcast all the episodes it had received.
Ugh. More he said she said crap. Though as Made In Brazil points out, MTV Brazil beat everyone to the punch with its girl-on-girl frenching, making it the first true gay kiss to air in that country.
How about we take this to the next level?
