Gay + Straight Porn Actor Didn’t Spread HIV To Other Performers, So Smut Inc. Is Back In Production

The HIV-positive porn star, who performed in both gay and straight flicks, did not transmit the virus to anyone else, the California health clinic that first alerted the industry says.

Referred to as Patient Zeta, the unnamed performer tested positive Oct. 9, and all other performers were immediately “quarantined” (read: barred from making new films). After testing — twice — all sex partners of Patient Zeta’s colleagues and the people those colleagues had sex with both professionally and personally, the Adult Industry Medical Healthcare Foundation concluded Friday there was no retransmission of HIV: “It has been established that Patient Zeta acquired the virus through private, personal activity and there was no transmission of the HIV virus from Patient Zeta to anyone else,” reads a statement.

That might not be good enough for Los Angeles County’s public health officials, who say the AIM clinic has yet to hand over its test results or methods for verification.

Meanwhile, it looks like legs are about to start spreading again in Porntown: Following voluntary shut-downs, porn studios including Vivid Entertainment and Hustler are heading back to work.
