Why do you have to compare them? I like both. They’re both talented in different ways. Why should Madonna have to retire because she’s older? That’s so ageist.
Why do we always set women against one another in this catfight way? I don’t see features like this comparing two male singers.
Madonna’s style isn’t quite as outrageous as Gaga’s. Gaga is way more over the top with the meat dress. I like Madonna’s style more just because I’m a little more conservative when it comes to fashion. Madonna’s style is more accessible for the average person.

Gaga is more like Cyndi Lauper and Boy George in terms of her ridiculous looks than Madonna who is more high fashion. Oops, I hope Gaga doesn’t go the way of them into obscurity. I like Gaga but she hasn’t proven she has the staying power of Madonna.

Gaga’s style is better. I forget which video it is, but Madonna looks like a grandma in dance class tights playing Twister with herself showing off her bum.

Madonna has the better music and a sense of style that pushed boundaries (she’s mellowed somewhat now) whilst still being in good taste. Gaga just does the most outrageous thing she can think of to get attention.
A better comparison is Madonna and P!nk.

Actually, I always thought if Lady GaGa was ripping off ANYBODY it was the lead singer of “Missing Persons” rather than Madonna.

How can you compare Madonna’s 40 years 1982-2008 to Lady Gaga’s 4 years from 2009-2011? You can’t.She still has a long way to go, if she lives that long.

@ChrisC: LMAO. that’s funny. Considering Madonna is the most successful and influential female artist in music history. She might not have the greatest voice, be the best dancer but the women is an incredible artist, can find the next big thing before anyone else and has created dozens of the greatest pop songs ever recorded. Born this way didn’t rip off Express Yourself. Lady Gaga isn’t stupid enough to play a song and think that she could rip it off and get away with it. It just simply has the same beat. Madonna doesn’t come close to Gaga in terms of talent and voice. Madonna should leave music now while she still has some popularity left. She will soon start to look very desperate if she does not.
