Madonna made fun of Sarah Palin during the opening night of the American leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour. Said the pop star: “Sarah Palin can’t come to my party. Sarah Palin can’t come to my show. It’s nothing personal.” If you say so… [NY Post]

LOL im sure sarah is sooooo dissappointed. not.

Celebrities like Madonna, Pamela Anderson, et al. deserve the airhead, group think reputation they have every time they open their mouths. They come up with increasingly absurd ways to insult a candidate they don’t agree with but know little about and then high-five each other on just how gross they can be. It’s all pathetic group think – and they think they’re brave and patriotic for doing it. There’s nothing more cowardly.
Chris
hey Berdie, I think shooting wolves from a helicopter is a bit more cowardly.
Berdie
Chris – I am not sure how what I said suggested to you that I am a fan of shooting animals from helicopters, but let’s agree that hunting from an aircraft is also cowardly. Doesn’t change my original point one bit.
Jude
Berdie, he was referencing one of Palin’s hobbies in response to your observation “There’s nothing more cowardly”.
Now I very much despise everything Sarah Palin stands for, but I agree that Madonna, in trying to stay relevant and somewhat edgy, makes those claims and ends up looking rather idiotic. But there are some celebrities who care about politics, who are informed and opinionated. Those celebrities have a right to use their spot in the limelight.

All of you need to shut the fuck up, because it’s quite obvious none of you old queens were even at her show last night, or understand the context of her comments during the show.
I was there, and her comments were totally tongue in cheek, and very funny. Madonna was poking fun at Sarah Palin like EVERYONE else in the free world, and it was all lighthearted. There was nothing idiotic about it, and the audience loved it.
Jude
Before you tell me to shut the fuck up, buddy, maybe you should rethink your approach. Because your comment right there, it doesn’t sound any better than most Republicans on this board.
The audience might have loved it, doesn’t change the fact that Madonna is far from relevant to the gay cause, and to politics in general, nowadays. Try putting your love for Madonna aside for a moment and realize that.
RainaWeather
I agree with Afrolito. None of you were there, and there’s so little of her comment given that I don’t see how you make make any claim about her from that little snippet. You guys sound like the republicans who complain whenever a celebrity dares to have an opinion on politics.
Jude
You’re right, I wasn’t there, but from that little snippet and other things Madonna has said in the past, I don’t see her as doing much good for the Democrats. Her insults are of Republican-level and that is what I disagree with. There are many other celebrities out there who make statements which are intelligent, thought out and much more important than what Madonna, who since she got married to an allegedly homophobic twat, has been very quiet about queer issues.
I’m sorry if it offends you personally that I think Madonna is not a good spokesperson for the liberal cause, but don’t put me in the same category as Republicans. My argument is far different from what they would say.
