Queerty is better as a member
Can Everett just leagally change his name to “Bitter Betty” and get it over with?
I get why he wouldn’t want children, he is from a broken home, worked as a prostitute, had his troubles with drugs etc…. but he also has a tendancy to blame everything in his live on something else.
He got a lot of parts in movies after his breakout role in “My Best Friends Wedding”, none of the movies did well (“The Next Best Thing” with Madonna anybody?) So after being in a string of bombs, he now says he wasn’t a successful actor because he was gay.
No, you got LOTS of roles, the movies just tanked Rupert.
Why worry about the opinion of an ex-hustler who’s so unhappy with himself (beginning with his face, which he surgically changed into the ugly mask he wears now) that he would condescend on his own people — and for what purpose, publicity? Alright, so he desperately needs to be noticed now that no one gives a $#!% about him anymore. Let him spew his venom, it’ll only hurt him.
See, kids, this is why drugs and prostitution are dangerous and a bad idea. They could turn you into someone like Rupert Everett.
It’s still pretty funny to see all of you queens pretending to get the vapors over what Rupert said. Guess the guy hit a nerve, huh? The sad-but-hilarious spectacle of a bunch of Marys throwing a hissy fit makes his comment worthwhile. Thanks for the laughter, Rupert!
@Eric Auerbach: are you done?
Not as funny as somebody like you who hangs out on gay blogs to get their little digs in. Guess the wife and kids think you’re looking up sports scores right?
Rupert Everett’s remarks are unfortunate,but WHY must we hold
“gay icons” to expectations of Christ-like perfection,and
go postal when they fail to meet them? SILLY.
We aren’t holding him to an expectation of Christ-like perfection. We are expecting him not to side against civil rights. That is just basically not being a dick.
“Grim Lesbians” What an a_ss hole (and the the good kind either)
@Cam: Cam,please change “we” to I,
and speak for yourself.
Evidently,you didn’t get my point:Holding ANYONE to impossibly
high standards is unrealistic,disregards they fact
[sorry fact,or not]that he/she is only human.It is unfair to both
the object and the holder of those standards,and is bound to lead to
What is impossibly high about not expecting Everett to advocate for second class status for gays?
You seem to have a very low bar for “Christ Like”.
Asking somebody to not be a self hating bigot is not asking a huge amount.
So now we have the obligatory circus of the GLAAD thought police piling on as always. Who died and made them the boss of gays? This is the kind of snarky comment he is famous for, and it sounded like a joke to me. When are we going to learn to take a joke and let people be what they are and not be such control freaks about the gay “brand”.
I guess I’m out of the loop,because i don’t know who this heterosexist jackass is,and now that i see he’s an imbecile,I couldn’t care less.
I do agree with his comments on surrogacy. There are real ethical problems that should not be removed from being debated out of false ideas of political correctness. Just how egomaniacal do people have to be to pay the poor to act as incubators for their privileged seed, just so they can have the upper-middle class lifestyle accessory that is a real biological child?
“Some grim lesbian”???
Wow, ol’ Rupert really is thick, isn’t he?
Rupert is an actor, a person who speaks the lines that others write, moves according to the director’s instructions, and obviously has some bitterness about like in general. What does he know about parenting or being raised by two gay men. Obviously he is better at reciting lines others write.
@Eric Auerbach: Eric, when you swallow do you ask Jesus for forgiveness?
@Aidan8: You sure got my number, Aidan. Nevermind that I am no longer a believer in Jesus. And nevermind that I’ve never performed “oral,” as you ladies call it, on a man — though I have had it performed on me, I will admit ;-)
@Eric Auerbach: Oh Eric…. your testosterone levels are just driving me wild….. how can one man be so butch?
P.S. Don’t worry, we’ll never tell about all those times you blew your friend Tommy under the high school bleachers…
@Aidan8: You think this is all about “testosterone” and being “butch”? Are you by any chance from the 70s? Grow the eff up.
@Cam: Cam,I’m not sure,but
you might be right about my “low bar”,though I certainly not
intending to hold anyone to Christ-like standards,even Christ.
What I am sure of is that you just don’t get it/Perhaps
you can’t,more’s the pity….So:Never mind.
You’re bad__I love it!
@Eric Auerbach: Oh my, now look who got her panties in a knot…. must of struck a nerve somewhere…. lol
Rupert is just trying to distance himself from the gay community.He blames his lackluster
career on his coming out as gay,when in fact his mediocre acting talent is responsible for
his lack of success as an actor.
@Eric Auerbach: Aiden may need
to “grow the eff up”[though from the wit of his comments,
I doubt it], but you ,Eric Auerbach, appear to badly need
a brain implant. One hopes your body won’t reject it as a
Seriously,queer-hating commenters like you[sadly,there have
been,and there probably will be many],fixated on spewing venom
on LGBT sites,often have problems with their own orientation:
shame,anger,denial,and/or self-hatred.I suppose I should feel
compassion for you,but being fresh out of pity,I suggest you
take your hatred somewhere else.
@Eric Auerbach: Eric, You’re sucha manly man! I bet all the boys swoon over you. Don’t try to deny it! ;)
@Cam: Nice one,Cam !
@Joincny: But Joincy, Look at all
the advantages,the convenience, of all the boys swooning over
Eric! That makes it so much easier for him to suck them.
My partner is an amazing father. His children have never wanted for ANYTHING. They have their entire college careers (through graduate school) completely paid for. They have been given the best of the best their entire life. He would give anything to them and for them.
How is he a worse father than someone who drops out of sight to avoid paying child support on a child they have only seen once in their lifetime? Could someone please tell me that?
Also, both of his children are amazing. One is pulling a 3.8 in honors classes and is about to apply to college in 2013. The other works 60 hours a week and is about to return to school to pursue his dreams. I really, wish my father would have been half as good as my partner is with his kids.
@Eric Auerbach: Oh, you better fucking believe he hit a nerve. After watching just how good of a father a gay guy can make first hand, I can not stand anyone thinking that a straight dead beat dad is doing a better job.
@Guillermo3: Cam speaks for me and most everyone I know. I’m proud to have him represent us. As for you, I did not realize that expecting someone to respect the rights of others was such a foreign concept as you make it out to be. However, since you show no respect for anyone but yourself I’m really not surprised.
@viveutvivas: I didn’t realize Rupert was a comedian. You definitely can not tell that from his movies!
@viveutvivas: Do your views also go for women that can not conceive or carry a child that are in a heterosexual marriage? If so, I can kind of sort of understand where you are coming from. I think that adoption is a wonderful thing and there are plenty of children in foster care.
Also, if I ever did go the surrogate route, I would want it to be someone I know well that is willing to sign over her parental rights but still be in the child’s life, and I would absolutely make it known that she is the child’s mother. I believe that the more people in a child’s life that actually love that child the better (as long as they positively influence the child’s life).
@Joincny: I think Eric forgot to mention that the reason that he has never performed “oral” on a man is because the second he sees a dick he is flat on his back with his ass in the air.
@tdx3fan: tdx3fan,your comment
to me ismostly incomprehensible gibberish,HOWEVER:FROM WHAT
LITTLE IS TRANSLATABLE(VERY LITTLE)WHAT LEADS you TO BELIEVE
THAT “RESPECTING THE RIGHTS OF OTHERS” IS
A FOREIGN CONCEPT TO ME?
In any case,you are in correct:I even respect the rights
of dog shit like Eric Auerbach.
Do please work on your reading,comprehension,and writing skills,
please read my comment above,#26.
I LOVE your disingenuous nature.
You first comment that dissagreeing with him is akin to being thought police etc… and then LATER in a different post you talk about your own problems with surragacy etc…
So lets be honest here. Your REAL issue is that you agree with him. Be an adult and just say that rather than trying to hide it behind a bunch of B.S.
The fact is, Everett made a stupid comment, you agree with it, end of story.
@Guillermo3: You accuse Cam of calling out Everett and being angry at Everett’s words because he holds him to a high standard and doesn’t get it, what exactly is he not supposed to be getting? That expecting Everett not to sound like a bitter idiot and drag down gay dads who have been wonderful parents to their children is too much to ask for?
washed up actor. Next!
@Niall: May I ask,Niall:What is
your first language?Not,I fervently hope,English.
In any case,would you please tell me where and how I “accuse
Cam of calling out Everett and being angry at Everett’ words
because he holds him to a high standard and doesn’t get it…..
…etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.,etc.” WHERE did I accuse Cam of anything?
Rupert Everett’s memoirs are being serialised by the Daily Mail and the interview was given to the Daily Telegraph – the two most rightwing mainstream publications in the UK. His comments reflect his calculation of his new target market – middle England, middle-class people who resemble his his own parents as he describes them (lovingly) in his book. He has always veered between an unconvincing enfant terrible persona and a scarcely more convincing upper middle class privilege. “If only I weren’t so posh/gay/outrageous – but I just can;t help myself. I tell it like it is.” No, he tells it like his audience wants to hear it – people who enjoy the naughty frisson of knowing “one of them” but who are ultimately glad to have their own prejudices confirmed. In the interests of disclosure, I have two adopted kids and split my time between the continent and precisely the country/county audience he seeks to address. He is entitled to his (inane) opinions, I suppose. I just wish he’d drop he notion that they somehow place him “out there” in some post-gay groovy sexo-sphere. He is a shire Tory and good luck to him – he just needs to make his peace with that. I can’t say his parents seem to have done the best job of raising him either.
@Guillermo3: Maybe “accuse” wasn’t the right word, but
@Guillermo3: you say he doesn’t get it in this reply? And you also say expecting Everett not to make comments like this is holding him to Christ-like perfection, which is just silly.
And yes English is my first language, I could ask the same of you though, seeing as you type like a teenaged girl.
@Niall: Nial,I DO TYPE BADLY,
HOWEVER,I think YOU owe “teenaged[sic] girl”(s) an apology.
I believe,reading back,that I wrote holding a “gay icon” to
Christ-like standards.If you read my comment #11(making the,
perhaps unwarranted,assumption that you can)replying to Cam,
that what I feel he[?] didn’t get may be clear to you.
Good luck,Nial,on your learning English!_Even most of the
Scots and the Irish eventually learn a version of it.
@Guillermo3: Yeah you might be right on that count, I think they probably make sense and their line formatting isn’t as spasticated as yours. And not to worry, my English is just fine, goodluck with working on your punctuation and learning to master the space bar on a keyboard, it’ll go a long way.
@Niall: Weak(and CHEAP)Shot,
My writing makes perfect sense to those with an IQ larger
than their shoe size,but you are correct:I do sometimes miss
I’ll close with a stronger shot,though equally as cheap
as yours:Get Fucked,You can’t be ht ugly.[Or can you?]
@Guillermo3: Lmao, as weak as your shots at my English for whatever reason? And yeah keep telling yourself that your random use of spacing makes sense. You might want to work harder on taking shots at people, trying making sense too while at it. Try again lol.
you are an idiot.BEGONE.Lmao!
@Guillermo3: We’re getting there, wanna try for another? lol Spacing and punctuation must be really hard to grasp, pity.
@Niall: Getting where ,c*nt Niall?
There is nothing defective or incorrect(would that the same
could be said for your brain)in the comment of mine to which you have
attempted to reply.
Give it a rest.You’re boring.
