GLAAD. v Paris Hilton
Those stupid Snickers ads ain’t the only videos causing a stir. Those darling media watchdogs over at GLAAD are focusing some faggot-defending energy on Paris Hilton: the dog the media loves to watch.
In her most recent embarrassing video, Ms. Hilton practices some pejorative vocabulary with a little faggot-flinging and nigger-calling. Ah, yes, great American past times, but hardly the talk GLAAD wants to hear from one of our most treasured national heroes.
Demanding an apology, GLAAD president Neil Giuliano rails:
When Paris Hilton utters these words into a camera, it creates a permanent record that… she must bear responsibility for.These are not frivolous words, and to use them as if they are gives tacit sanction to the racism and homophobia they engender. Hilton has an obligation to go on the record, explain herself, and publicly apologize to the LGBT and African American communities and all those offended by these slurs.
Giuliano must be on drugs. The idea of Paris Hilton taking responsibility for her actions rivals the absurdity of that whole Washington State marriage proposal.
Also, we can’t help but wonder how many people are actually offended by Hilton’s outburst. It’s not as if we expect anymore from her or anything.

Oh, I think I get it. GLAAD only does the job we all think it’s supposed to do when the offender fires off the word faggot into the ether, directed at no one in particular.

Paris has definitely learned her lesson. She coined up her personal nickname of derision, “lolas” for black people. I’m on pins and needles waiting to hear about her new name for gay people.

My point was that GLAAD didn’t do a damn thing last October when Isiah Washington choked Dempsey and called T.R. Knight a faggot on the set of Grey’s Anatomy – they waited until it turned into a media fReNZy a few weeks ago. Even then, they did nothing… Where were they when T.R. was being FORCED to come out and potentially damage his career?

BeeDee that’s not fair. Whatever IW said in October was clearly swept under the rug. It really wasn’t all that clear what went down on the Grey’s set (including the exact word IW used) until IW repeated the F word at the Golden Globes and denied saying it in the first place. This idiot Paris is caught on tape making racist and homophobic remarks; there’s no denying what she said. GLADD did exactly what it was supposed to do. Bravo! Just because Ms. Hilton is a gay icon and a rich, spoiled white girl, doesn’t mean she should get a free pass. IW was raked over the coals (deservedly so). Paris should also be taken to task for her stupidity.
We’re getting worked up about what Paris Hilton calls us? It bewilders me why she is even noteworthy. She’s about as bright as a bag of hammers, she’s odd looking, she permits her vagina to be exposed all over and has no discernable talents. Who should care?
