Best of GayCities 2011

Good Taste: Vote For Your Favorite Food City And Win A Vacation Package For Two

The wait is over: The nominations are in for our sister site’s annual Best of GayCities poll, and this year the competition is hot!

Today we showcase the delectable nominees for the world’s best food city: Barcelona, Chicago, New Orleans, Paris, and San Francisco. Which tasty town gets your vote as the ultimate foodie utopia?

Barcelona
Barcelona’s easy access to fresh Mediterranean seafood makes for scrumptious Spanish tapas and paella. Current hot spots include Unico, Elche, and Espai Sucre.

Chicago
This classic food-loving town is making a new international culinary splash, heavy on Italian heart and Midwestern comfort. Popular Boystown eateries include  Angelina Ristorante, Nookie’s Tree House and Kit Kat Lounge & Supper Club.

New Orleans
In the Big Easy, French flavors and Cajun spices come together in one festive affair. Among local favorites are jazz brunch at The Court of Two Sisters, beignets at Café du Monde and the original Bananas Foster at Brennan’s (above).

Paris
Long considered one of the world’s top food capitals, the City of Lights is forever pushing the culinary envelope. Crowd pleasers include historic Brasserie Bofinger (right), gay fave Gai Moulin, and the experimental Ozo.

San Francisco
Some of California’s finest chefs offer up a huge range of cuisines in this foodie haven, usually with fanaticism for fresh, local and organic ingredients. Favorites include brunch at 2223, seafood at Catch, and Italian at Delfina.

Now that you know who’s in the running, why delay? Vote now and you could be a winner, too! One lucky GayCities member will nab two tickets to the U.S. city of their choice (courtesy of our friends at American Airlines) and two nights at a top-rated hotel (courtesy of GayCities).

You’ve got until January 4 to add your voice to the mix!

All winners will be announced on January 5. Anyone can vote but entrants must be GayCities members to qualify for vacation package.
