Amazon.com has already gone through the ringer for upsetting The Gays. Now is it Google’s turn? Sure, the search giant loves itself some pride, but according to some LGBT publishers using Google’s Blogger service, they’ve been getting shut down without explanation.
Okay, maybe there is this explanation: many of them were veritable porn sites. Back in August, some Blogger accounts were inexplicably locked down and made inaccessible to their authors and web visitors. One of the most well known to get locked up was CasperFan, a blog originally launched to chronicle all things Casper Van Deen, but now a site dedicated to all big and small screen hotties who disrobe.
From there, this blog (ironically, powered by Blogger) launched when others started seeing their blogs get shut down, to collect all the blogs Blogger gated. When we checked over the weekend, more than 200 blogs were listed to have been banished; today, that number is at just 46, with many blogs being reopened by Google. These have names like Sperm My Cumhole, Uncut Guys, Blond Twinks. While some of these sites are just collections of images of cute guys, others are, obviously, full-blown amateur porn sites.
For its part, Google has been investigating, and invited bloggers to submit their sites here for further investigation. One forum poster indicates it wasn’t Google/Blogger clamping down on gay blogs, but rather, “They’ve had a problem recently with a third part widget called ‘Bloglinker’ that has flagged lots of blogs as containing malware, so it could be that.”
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In the meantime, the much beloved CasperFan has moved to another host (link NSFW), proving the gays aren’t just a resilient bunch, but they’ll do anything for their skin pics.
(Thanks, Hanno!)

“Gone through the wringer,” not ‘gone through the ringer.’

I’ve been running across a lot of sites that appear to be run by a particular studio to promote its own movies — but hosted on free blog networks.
It must be quite a cost-saving measure for the studios and quite a bandwidth burden for the blog hosts.

If they have been shutting them down because of malware that’s understandable; as Blogger as the “Adult Content” feature the authors could add to their blog as to not to cause any problems.
Still it’s pretty shitty to not at least notify them as to what the cause was.

J.CLARENCE: Its not shitty that they are not notifying them about what the cause was, its shitty that the cause was that they were gay themed…………..(please see post #2)

It was my understanding that a great number of these blogs featured less-than-legal boys or questionably legal porn otherwise. Following one particular blog’s blogroll once showed me how many of these blogs catered to visitors who may as well be visiting 12chan.
Yeah, some of the blogs may have been perfectly legal and legit, but I’m almost finding it easier to side with Google and just go ahead and wipe out anything that may have child porn.

I suspect that this is what happened to Jockspank, and it was benign compared to a number that I can think of that are still up and running as blogs. Go figure.

Yahoo purged in 2004! DVDs are so cheap now for the porn-inclined. Rentboydotcom has every inch of dating sites and chat rooms ruined by Hustlers, anyway!

If the Terms of Service were violated, just tell the blogger and be specific about explaining the violation so it will not be repeated in the next blog. Why this big mystery? Why do so many gay blogs get closed at once?

Google is a homophobic organisation – fact! Why do I say ‘fact’? Because it’s interesting that in their mass shutdown, they didn’t manage to touch any straight blogs! Despite their claim that it is to do with malware (totally unproven), it is strange that their ‘detectors’ removed only gay sites.
So don’t just sit around doing nothing – FIGHT HOMOPHOBIA – BOYCOTT GOOGLE
