GOP Platform: Obama Imposing “Homosexual Rights Agenda” On Africa

The effectiveness of our foreign aid has been limited by the cultural agenda of the current Administration, attempting to impose on foreign countries, especially the peoples of Africa, legalized abortion and the homosexual rights agenda. At the same time, faith-based groups — the sector that has had the best track record in promoting lasting development — have been excluded from grants because they will not conform to the administration’s social agenda. We will reverse this tragic course, encourage more involvement by the most effective aid organizations, and trust developing peoples to build their future from the ground up.”

—A segment from the Republican National Committee platform that was allegedly leaked on the party’s website Friday.

This is one of the most fucktarded things I’ve heard from the GOP yet. Of course they hide behind “free speech” when Chick-Fil-A and associated assholes donate millions towards killing LGBTs in Africa, but of course when the US Govt. decides to make a stand on human rights, it’s “imposing homosexual rights”… Evil, filthy, low down assholes.
The Log Cabin Republicans are either idiots, evil, or completely deluded.

Republicans and christian groups are spending millions funding death squads and forcing African nations to stay in the dark ages and perpetuating civil wars.

Romney and everyone in the mormon church and every evangelical nutter church have an ocean of blood on their hands.

Considering they were the ones who went to Uganda in the first place to “preach” the evils of homosexuality and get this whole mess started… What arseholes.

@Ridpathos: I doubt GOP is responsable for homophobia in africa. I’m sure they were that way long before white people came along. In the USA they vote in much higher numbers to ban gay marriage than whites do..

@brent: “I’m sure they were that way long before white people came along.”

Funny you should say that, because it is simply not true, at least not for all of them. It is nearly impossible to make general statements about ancient Africans. Africa is a huge continent, with hundreds of tribes. While it is true that some tribes were against homosexuality, some tribes condoned homosexuality. While white people did not bring the first homophobia to the country, they did bring Christianity which is responsible in large part for much of the homophobia that rages many African nations today.

@LandStander: Well then i guess you could also blame islam for homophobia in the wetern parts of africa. As for what africa was like before white people we do know that they practiced slavery like everyone else, we also know they practiced human sacrifice and cannibalism. But i suppose despite those things they could have been tolerant to gays.

@brent: @brent: YES! Slavery and cannibalism don’t preclude acceptance of homosexuality. There isn’t a single narrow linear path societies have to climb up to progress. I personally come from a society that practiced cannibalism and slavery (they were tied together, slaves were prisoners of war who became ritual food), and it had ALWAYS been tolerant of homosexuality. Homophobia present in my culture now is a product of the Christian Missionaries and their Churches.
