It is worse than BDSM it is a form of Gay water boarding. I have lived in the Gay community for 36 years more than half of my life and I have never seen my own kind so hell bent on destroying EVERYTHING that we have worked and cried and bled and died for since the 1970s. May the Goddess forgive me, but these B***hes need to get back in their closets and stay there. Join a Monastery move to Russia or any of several other countries that deny basic human rights. Frieda Lay a Queen who died many years ago from AIDS and a very dear friend. Always said.”If you don’t have something good to bring to the party, then stay the F**K home B**CH”!…..

It’s actually a Karl Rove funded front organization, like many of the “minority” outreach groups you see occasionally in the news mouthing off some ridiculous jargon in support of republicans – of course totally contrary to the real interests of the group that they supposedly represent. They are total and complete whores and not even the good sexy kind.

      2) GOProud’s words and actions speak volumes. None of it good.
      3) I find it interesting that all of the usual conservative/GOP/LogCabin types (BJ McFrisky, et al.) are so quiet on posts like this.

I’m a gay liberal who had conservative parents – like a lot of us, maybe most of us? – and I like most of what Little Kiwi has to say, but I just don’t get his parent obsession. WTF, is Kiwi blowing his father or what? Ewwww. Maybe instead of telling Queerty about it he could tell Squirt.org: they love incest stories over there.

But yeah, something even more weird and creepy than Kiwi’s parent fetish is… GOProud! This raises the question, however, of why GOProud is even weirder and creepier than Log Cabin. So what’s the explanation, are GOProud guys even MORE obsessed with their parents than LCR guys are?

I suppose there may be something to the theory and that most gay righties are trying to suck up to their parents. It makes some sense, but is that really the salient point? It seems to me the money obsession trumps the parent obsession (if any). I have an alternate theory that gay conservatives are not even really “gay” in the clinical or psychological sense, if they just masturbate to piles of dollar bills, and read Ayn Rand and Freidrich Hayek and listen to Rush or some such dreck, and think girls have cooties. Technically none of that stuff makes them “gay,” it just makes them weird and creepy guys who jerk off on money.

So they’re not really homosexuals. They are MONEYSEXUALS!

(And if you ever get a twenty that’s a little, um, sticky… ewwww, maybe that’s why! Maybe there’s a moneysexual in your neighborhood who has the mistaken impression he’s “gay.”)

One reason I like my theory is that if it’s true, there is no danger of us real gay guys (gay liberals) ever unintentionally having sex with those guys. (With or without a condom.) They have sex with money, not with other guys.

For instance Matt Hissey (! – ha), the “stereotypical gay guy” in comment #4, oh I suppose some of you out there would volunteer to hate-fuck that horrible little twink. But however hard you fucked him, that still wouldn’t change his innate sexual orientation, according to my theory. He jerks off to money.

Anyway I don’t get why anybody over the age of about 19 or 20 spends much time worrying what their parents think about anything. Be a grown-up.

Interestingly, an article I wrote on one of these politicians is now up at Bilerico Project and should be up at Huffington Post soon. It’s about Elizabeth Emken, a friend from high school, who had many gay friends but is now running for CA Senate (against Dianne Feinstein) on an anti-marriage equality stance.

Once again, GOProud is NOT a gay group.

They are a group with the majority of the board being hetrosexual, they put a gay member front and center so they can pretend it is a gay group and so they can use it to try to pretend that Gays like the GOP and to help give the bigots in the party cover.

it’s not that difficult to understand Greg, unless you’re not that bright and (like others before you) are harboring a person obsession with me.

lemme lay it out – most gay people are born to anti-gay parents. those with integrity and spines rise about it. those whose balls never drop become gay republicans. why? they never learned to stand up to family.

but feel free to do what i do – and put a face and name to your comments, to best make your point. if you have one? it seems to be the point i make, actually…

@Little-Kiwi: I agree with you that it’s important for any gay person to come out to their parents. (And as I’ve warned people here before – be prepared for rejection. You might be pleasantly surprised, just be prepared for it.)

But your argument contradicts itself. According to you, these GOProud guys HAVE come out to their parents. Or are you saying they didn’t do it in person, they came out online (which after all seems to impress you more than the real thing) so their parents presumably have found out? So do their parents still hate them despite their GOP-ness, or don’t they? Either they do or they don’t. Or doesn’t it matter? The parent stuff hardly seems the relevant point.

As I’ve told you before, my bf and I do our activism in real life in the place where we live. (Tougher to do than where you live.) There’s no obligation to appear visually online just because some anonymous hipster exhibitionist in Brooklyn (how brave!) or wherever demands that someone do so.

Really I agree with 98% of everything you say (including Ethan Mordden who I like); I just find your parent obsession creepy and disturbing. Almost every single post of yours mentions parents! I just don’t understand why a person who says he’s over 30 is so obsessed with the subject. It seems psychologically unhealthy. … Hmmm, I don’t think I have a “person obsession” with you, I think I’m just a little worried about you!

Again, I’m less “anonymous” here than you are. When do you “put a name” to your comments? Did your parents actually name you Kiwi? :)

GOProud – white moneyed resentful homosexuals who rather than building bridges between Gays and Conservatives actually work to keep them apart – hence their distancing of themselves from “those other gays” – like in the two videos i posted.

I’m not the one with the parent-obsession: those with the parent obsession are those who have not yet grown spines or balls and continue, even as adults, to beg for pithy tolerance by Leaning Hard Right, castrating themselves by being anti-gay gay republicans.

this is not me contradicting myself. this rather clear. they’re Out – but not empowered. they’re the “i’m gay but i’m not like THOSE gays” gays. Apologists.

Click my name, dude – you’ll see me and what i am.

You show me a gay republican and i’ll show you a wimpy boy who is still sucking up to his GOP-voting Family. A great many gay men born into GOP-voting families act like adults and get away from that nonsense. That’s what I point out – at some point these boys need to become men and stop living in fear of what Conservative Parents Think.

But hey, feel free to share (as i’ve shared – click my name) the incredible work you and your partner are doing. Because for all we know you could be some failed ex-porn actor with a meth-addiction living in his parent’s house in some small town making up a fake life because you can’t get sober :D

I do my activism and advocacy in the real world, too. And I can prove it :-)

@Little-Kiwi: Not everyone is an exhibitionist like you are. You wouldn’t really like it if every gay person did what you suggest (making endless videos etc.); that would deflect attention from yourself.

I’m already on record here as not watching porn (& a lot of guys don’t believe me!) but if I were an ex-porn actor I probably wouldn’t be squeamish about making videos. :)

Actually no one is *required* to do any activism at all. This was true before the internet existed and before you were born. I agree with you that they should not be literally counter-productive (a la GOProud) but there are minimum requirements – come out to parents, come out @ work if possible unless it’s physically dangerous, be responsible re: HIV etc. – and that’s about it. If someone is inspired to do more than that, and/or if someone likes the limelight, great, but it’s not a requirement.

Yeah, I do live in a small town, I told you that before (a run-down New England mill town). Not every gay person lives in Toronto or NYC. You really think you’re sooooo brave doing what you’re doing – from NYC? Really? If you were poor enough that you had to live in the Bronx or the far reaches of Jersey City or Queens, you might find it tougher to do what you do too. You might get f@g-bashed too. Don’t be delusional.

“A great many gay men born into GOP-voting families act like adults and get away from that nonsense.” I’m relieved to finally hear that from you since you’ve often seemed to be implying something quite different. Totally agree!

@Little-Kiwi: Jesus Fucking Christ, you ARE full of yourself, aren’t you?

I like how you agree with points I made several months ago, that you disagreed strenuously with several months ago, and now you think you believed them all along. That’s flattering I guess, and proves you do have good sense, albeit the delayed-reaction kind.

So I’ll plant this. Why do think everyone who’s less outgoing than you are is a “wimp”? That’s pretty reductionist. (Actually it’s way worse than that but I’ll say reductionist.) I’m sure that, for instance, you pay lip service to the gay victims of childhood bullying – yep, you do in passing in your video in comment #3 – but I get the impression that when you meet an actual former victim of childhood bullying in real life, ten or fifteen years after he’s survived middle school, you just call him a wimp. This has probably actually happened.

Not everyone needs to be doing what you’re doing. Jeez, even you won’t be doing all of it a few years from now.

@Little-Kiwi: Heh, looks like I hit the target there. You’ve been a bully in real life. (But you never thought of it that way before, and you’ll improve. That’s great.)

Have you invented a different definition of “anonymous” than the one that appears in regular dictionaries? For example, the usually pejorative term “anonymous sex”: we don’t know the guy’s name but we DO see the guy’s face, and yet… it’s still called “anonymous” sex. (Remind you of anything?)

It’s funny that you’re so obsessed with the “anonymity” stuff when YOU’RE ANONYMOUS.

I’ve asked before – are we supposed to rummage around the fine print on your site? I’m not “obsessed” enough to look again! :)

I’ve seen sites where people disdain anonymity but they want to get rid of screen names completely. They want Facebook logins, full names, etc. You keep saying the same things over & over & over but it makes no sense. I’ve never seen anyone with a screen name complain about a supposed “anonymity” problem. It’s a contradiction in terms.

So since you’re baffled by lack of online evidence… theoretically, what would satisfy you? We’re mentioned in a few news articles here & there but that’s about it. Does GOProud even have any members? They do not even allow you to register on their website. Most of their board members are heterosexual Republicans.

For a group so divorced from the gay community, they get way too much attention. At least Log Cabin wants gay members and doesn’t let itself be run by Corporate Republicans.

@Little-Kiwi: It was a simple question. Maybe not everyone is “obsessed” enough with you to read every self-worshipping link you post.

Queerty doesn’t mind anonymity and has said so, because they’re aware that not every gay person lives in a safe delusional bubble in NYC.

If someone on Queerty unilaterally demands that OTHER people “put a name and face to their comments,” but will only do ONE of those two things himself, he’s a hypocrite.
