Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812, a scandalous slice of Tolstoy’s War and Peace has moved uptown to Times Square after a critically-acclaimed run in the Meatpacking District. The show, adapted by Dave Malloy and directed by Rachel Chavkin, has won the 2013 Richard Rodgers Award for Musical Theater, a Special Citation from the Obie Awards, as well as numerous other accolades. We went behind the velvet curtains at Kazino, a pop-up supper club where the show is presented, for an exclusive look into the backstage life of the performers as they prepared for the show. The current cast includes David Abeles, Brittain Ashford, Josh Canfield, Nick Choksi, Ken Clark, Ashkon Davaran, Blake Delong, Lulu Fall, Amber Gray, Luke Holloway, Grace Mclean, Azudi Onyejekwe, Phillipa Soo, Lucas Steele, Mariand Torres, Katrina Yaukey, and Lauren Zakrin.
