You’re next, Illinois!
The race is on to see which state will be the next to legalize same-sex marriage, and Groupon wants you to know they’re working on Illinois. The web-based coupon company grabbed a bullhorn today and shouted their support via YouTube.
The video above features Groupon’s LGBT employees and their allies sharing stories about their struggles and what marriage equality means to them. It also announces Groupon’s new partnership with Illinois Unites for Marriage, a nonprofit that’s currently collecting signatures for “the freedom to marry in Illinois.”
Additionally, the company will be bussing employees to participate in the March on Springfield on October 22, which will coincide with the possible passing of the Religious Freedom and Marriage Fairness Act.
How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.

Considering all the horrible publicity they’ve received from businesses, and being from chicago, this doesn’t shock me.

I guess NOM will now lead a boycott of Groupon, similar to the ongoing boycotts of Starbucks and General Mills, due to their stance on same-sex marriage in Washington and Minnesota respectively.
