and….? everybody knows knee-grows are expendable. this black atlanta queen was hiv+, anyway. the story won’t hardly get any comments because he doesn’t look like reichen lehmkuhl or mason wyler, who we ARE concerned about.

@Tom: lol..Tom your facetious rant is quite true unfortunately – (especially here on Queerty). But as a Black Man I must admit that I have no use for Fembot Queens despite their color/race. So his death means little to me. (besides, I don’t know who the hell he is lol)

A “fembot queen” I expect is one who looks too girlie for the Black Man. One who, being a Black Man himself, would embarrass the BLACK PEGASUS with his fem ways. Queens like Dariel Pulliam, with their girlie hair and their non-butch jobs scare the bejesus out of stallions like BP because they’re wayyyyy too in touch with their feminine side. Guys like BP will allows queens to give them a bj in the bushes, but they would NEVER be caught dead in public with them. I guess what I’m trying to say is this: internalized homophobia is alive and well. And it’s especially alive and well among my brothers in sisters in the black community. Just look at the hoopla over Mister Cee and his alleged gayness. At least he’s got 50 Cent watching his back!

I feel sorry for him, and btw homophobia within the gay community is just wrong, I don’t mean to feed the troll but still has to be said.

There aren’t many more disgusting that those that will eat their own because of their own internalized issues.

Yes, Dariel was fem. And……………..who cares. At the end of the day, he’s one of us, he’s dead at a very young age, and he’s gone from the people who loved him. So ultimately, attacking him because he’s not macho enough only makes those who do such a thing the truly non-masculine ones. REAL masculine men don’t bat 2 eyelashes at another man who is more fem, because it has no affect on them whatsoever.

I don’t know who he is, and am generally annoyed by the “type”, but…. I bet he was important to others. Any death at 29 is unfortunate.

Can we give all the Martyring a rest here. If this story gets less hits than a story about one of the trolls on “The A List” it’s because far fewer people know who this poor guy was.

One thing you may want to notice though. When there is a post about the “A List” most of the comments are nasty and unflattering, I don’t see anybody attacking this gentleman on this post.

Wow racism and internalized homophobia right off the bat in obituary comments?

Tom, mo’s come in every color and all are valued.

Black Pegasus… you rail against fembots but chose a magical winged horse for your name? Freedom from gender norms is a good thing from styling hair to your love for My Little Ponies to being a big furry Canadian lumberjack.

Much love to Dariel’s friends and family.

@Gigi: ahh. thanks. I guess I should’ve been able to figure that one out. But I try not to assume.

who cares if he’s a fembot queen or not… it’s a shame when most people pass away (i say most because Rush Limbaugh and his ilk… I really can’t say I’ll be sad if they pass).
