We missed the congressman’s birthday on Tuesday, so a belated happy birthday to the new 69-year-old. How did he spend it? He and his boyfriend were going to “have a nice private dinner.” [TMZ]

I like Barney and think he has done a good job. I hope he had a happy birthday and continues to be a role model for me and other gay youth. He’s one of my heroes.

@Alec: Wasn’t the prostitution incident what revealed to the world that he is gay? If so, we have nothing to be proud of. The man is a pimp, a charlatan, and a fascist. A fascist who supports gay rights is still a fascist.
@Attmay: I don’t recall; his personal life was being scrutinized by the national press and I think that’s what prompted him to come out.

Yeah well he had sex with an underage page in his office..he was ‘censured’ by the house. this was back in the 80s. He is also on the take by all the banks. why do you think he was part of the denial club when a few lone voices were saying our banking system was in trouble? Him andChriss Dodd need to be run out of town.
He is no role model. We need accomplished gay leaders with integrity.
