Happy Endings: Mary’s ‘Just Fine’.

Mary J’s new video for “Just Fine”!

• Gay paper Outlook refuses to endorse Republican queer Bill Brownson. Says co-publisher Michael Daniels:

We started the process, as the queer newspaper, hoping we could endorse the queer candidate. But we were not going to endorse someone based purely on their sexual orientation.

They will, however, endorse every Democrat in the district. Hmmm…

Mitt Romney endorsed by anti-gay Bob Jones University.

• The outs and outs of Oprah’s gay show.

• A Utah child with an addict may be left with strangers. Why? Because a judge won’t let her gay uncle take care of her.

Bears get fashionable.

Barack Obama wants the most inclusive campaign possible:

I want to make sure that we are communicating the inclusive nature of this campaign, that I am continuing to reach out in the faith community. But I did want to do so in a way that is consistent with my strong belief in equal rights for gays and lesbians. And I don’t want there to be any confusion about that.

Wait, we’re confused…

I liked Oprah’s Gay Around the World show, except that it was a bit of a misnomer. It should have been called Gay Prince in Gujarati and Lesbian from Jamaica. That’s all the “around the world” they discussed. John Amaechi was brilliant, however… that man is a great speaker, and terribly charming. Great! I had hoped for more coverage of being gay in MANY countries, especially those that are more advanced than the US, and being gay is a TOTALLY different experience in many places – better AND worse.

I too expected more of a global perspective on the Oprah episode. But I guess it’s better than most talk-shows that would have aired, “Being Gay Around the Trailer Park.”
