This should come as no surprise to anyone, but the guy behind the calendar, Chad Hardy, is himself a gay Mormon…(or former Mormon probably), but he’s definitely gay.

GLBT members of Labour, and all parties ought to mount a campaign to kick her, if she’s guilty, and anyone else who has a history of antigay bigotry out of their parties. If local and constituent groups had a petition to this effect to vote on then the question could be raised at conventions.

If it wins and the bigots are booted out that will change the internal life of the parties for the good. If not then maybe our brothers and sisters in England need to consider building an independent left of Labour party. There is some sentiment to do that because of Blair’s pathetic role as Bush’s lapdog in the oil piracy in Iraq and more than a few trade unions are getting very tired of the deals LP makes with the ruling rich at their expense.

Such an effort will of course lead to the removal of other LP politicians, but could end up annihilating the leadership of the Conservative Party.
