Happy National Weatherman Day!

What better way to celebrate America's favorite intrinsically sexist holiday then by highlighting the bravery of one green-screened gay hero, who triumphantly stood his ground when being attacked by a cockroach while on-air. Oh wait, that's not what happened at all.

This clip has been around for a long time – and quite frankly, I wish that it would stop being circulated by my straight friends who post it on facebook with taglines reading "why gay men should not forecast the weather." It really perpetuates a stereotype and I'm disappointed to see it here.

@JPinWeHo: I'm all for gay gags, but this is indeed old. I take exception w/stale material.

well now I FINALLY understand that Big Gay Sketch Show (on LOGO) segment with the weatherman/cockroach. I was for two years completely baffled as to why is was supposed to be funny. Thanks queerty

@kevin: I'm a fan of BGSS, but totally agree that the humor in many of its sketches goes way over (or under) my head.

"…and eventually as.shik.in…" I LOVE this guy! Fuck stereotypes – this is who he is and what his reaction was. Internalized homophobia, much? Furthermore, fuck straight people that don't like gay people. If they are so homophobic, why are they your friends?
