Hawaii Speedo Student Tim Perry Is Now a Bonafide San Diego Porn Star
Tim Perry, the 22-year-old University of Hawai’i history major best known as “Speedo Student, and who Queerty first told the world (outside of Xtube) about, has left the island state and relocated to San Diego (NSFW). Why San Diego? Because it’s on the mainland, for one, which Perry has been yearning for. And two, it’s America’s gay porn capital. @ossurworld: Nowadays, porn stars have a shelf life of 2 or 3 years. Some last longer but those are rare. But yes, some last only a very short while.
So lets see. He’s dropped out of school, This producer will probably give him something like $500.00 to $2000.00 for doing the movie, he most likely wasn’t smart enough to get a contract that gave him a peice of the sales, so he now lives in an expensive city, with no college degree and no option now but to try to get a job bartending, do a few more porn movies, or start hooking. Hopefully he doesn’t get into drugs and actually finishes school before he’s just another former porn actor/junkie.

Silly boy – giving up his education to be exploited. Life is about choices. Being a porn star might seem glamorous, to a kid who doesn’t know better. A few thousand dollars might seem like a lot of money.
Considering the million or so extra dollars that a college grad usually earns (compared to a college dropout), the few thousand that you get for doing a movie isn’t so much. One more year of education (especially, the senior year of college) makes a big difference in lifetime earnings.
The more important choices are about relationships. How will a prospective husband, in five or ten years time, like the idea of you having been a porn star? Or, how will a husband, in ten or twenty years time, react to the news that you didn’t tell him?
Kids make dumb choices all the time. You will learn from it. Most of us have to learn these things the hard way. Smart people learn from the experience of others. I thought that was what “history” was supposed to be about.
This is just as tacky as a woman who gets a job in a titty bar so that ogling straight male sleazeballs can insert dollar bills down her bikini top.

I couldn’t agree more. It’s his decision to make, pro or con, come what may. It always cracks me up how so many accuse Queerty of “supporting” this or that when they are really just reporting and chronicling the rise (and/or fall) of this young gay man.
Tim may proof to be a cautionary tale to other young men who dream of illusive porn stardom (and they are many), or he may actually make a success of this endeavor with hard work and a little entrepreneurial genius. Who knows? The pendulum hasn’t stopping swinging yet.
