Heroes!

San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom and New York Governor David Paterson (pictured) will host a fundraiser here in New York City to raise money against Proposition 8, a California ballot measure meant to overturn gay marriage in the Golden State. Tickets start at $5,000, which should help beat the cash heavy right-wing. Both men have championed gay marriage rights in their respective states. [365 Gay]

Probably because much more is at stake in California. Besides, Arizona became the first state ever to vote down an anti-gay amendment a while ago so I guess everyone reckons Arizona is pretty safe.

These men really are heroes. Why haven’t Rosie O’Donnel and Ellen D. put their money where their mouths are?

With O’Bama running so strong in California and so many anti-8 voters potentially heading to the voting booth, there is no excuse for letting the Mormons and other misguided to pass this hateful proposition.
