Homophobic, Totally Insane Candidate Tests Utah’s Libertarians

dell.jpg
Libertarians sure know how to raise a stink.

Party members in Utah have joined forces for a very vocal protest against Dell Schanze, who wants to be the state’s Libertarian gubernatorial candidate.

Former leaders aren’t having it and hope to push him from the ticket. And, yes, some opposition rests on Schanze’s anti-gay, decidedly un-Libertarian principles. Former party leader Jim Dexter remarked, “If anything, Super Dell is an anti-libertarian. He’s a bully, a bigot and a homophobe who has fired employees because they were gay or non-LDS…”

Schanze claims not to know the definition of “homophobe” and justifies his positions in starkly religious terms:

I’m Christian and I love all people equally; that’s what a Christian is. It’s ridiculous…I disagree with [homosexuals’] practices, but that doesn’t mean I hate them. I disagree with adultery, and there’s no difference.

Dell’s obviously deranged. The computer whiz once pulled a gun on an employee and then blamed the media for his company’s closure:

It’s too bad that all of the media in Utah are liars and murderers. You just destroyed the greatest computer company of all time. We were the best in the world, the world champion. All this hatred was created by you. You’re basically angels of Satan. All I can say to the people in Utah is, please pray for all the news people.

Um, that’s alright, Dell. We don’t really need a prayer. You, on the other hand..

As I saw in a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon once: It’s hard to believe in religion when some people aren’t incinerated by lightning. This nutcase just solidifies my stance further.

@ Eminent- I hope not. He’s crazy and we don’t need him in the club.

He ran his business into the ground, blamed the media, then smashed his car head first into a canyon wall because he was higher than a kite.

The guy is going to be laughed at from the voting booth. I don’t have much respect for my Mormon neighbors, but I believe in them enough to know this guy isn’t going anywhere.
