How Academy Awards Voters Ruined Our Chances Of Seeing James Franco Dressed As Cher

While James Franco will be leading a Columbia College Hollywood course about his own life, here’s something he won’t be doing: dressing up as Cher as the Oscars. The awards night host was going to do a drag bit dressed as the Burlesque star, and have the real Cher interrupt him on stage. But, says the telecast’s joke writer Bruce Vilanch, Cher’s song “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me” wasn’t nominated, so she’s not attending. Great going, Academy.

Damn! That would have been priceless.

I love Cher and I love James Franco. Now, watching the Academy Awards just got a whole, lot, less interesting.

Another let down by the Academy; this would have been really funny to see. All in all, it should be a great show. Another Oscar disappointment was last year when White Wedding didn’t make it past the shortlist for Best Foreign Film. I just saw it on DVD and thought it was pretty deserving of a nomination. What do you guys think? Whiteweddingmovie.com
