Congratulations to Universal Pictures and director Ron Howard, whose film The Dilemma, which cost an estimated $70 million to make, returned for a second week of dismal receipts: just $9.7 million, after an unimpressive $20.7 million opening. But I did discover why a few of of you are willing to see this film:

I can not stand Vince Vaughn while Tatum Channing is no reason to see a movie unless he’s stripping. And why does Hollywood insists on the ludicrous idea that overweight men gets the sexy svelte ladies? It’s a ridiculous double standard. For once, I’d LOVE to see Mo’Nique get somebody like David Gandy as an arm trophy.

I was talking about the new movies at dinner with a girlfriend last week and we kept getting mixed up with The Dilemma, No Strings Attached, and the upcoming one with Sandler and Aniston. They seem to be interchangeable and guess what? We all know what is going to happen 10 minutes into the show. I am a huge advocate of going to the movies just for the hell of it and I realize not every movie is Casablanca or The African Queen (yes, Bogie fan here) but now that we have identified a “Sandler film” and an “Owen Wilson-type picture” that’s all I need to hear. We’ve all seen the movie, so why go to the latest variations? PLUS – why do they keep casting Jennifer Aniston? She is cute as hell but when was the last good movie she made?

The dilemma and no strings attached have cute themes, but no hot daddies. Vince V? Please. And Ashton Kutcher? He has an interesting name, but that’s it. Hollywood often has terrible taste in men. Or maybe the ones who make it are just the best at kissing up.

This video explains why I didn’t see The Dilemma:

Channing is the main reason to see this…

Hollywood continues to make the same movie over and over. If they can’t, they make a remake, which always falls short of the original.
Not a Vince Vaughn fan who also makes the same movie over and over much like Jen Anniston and Paul Rudd. Hollywood movies have become too boring. That may have something to do with the drop in moive ticket sales over the last year.
