We are past the point of anything the IOC making in the way of promises about safety to carry any actual weight. LGBT athletes and their allies are NOT safe in Russia, and possibly will never be ever again.

The IOC will not lift a finger to protect them. They are in bed with fascist theocracies all over the world.

I’m starting to worry that when Obama goes to Russia next month, Putin will have him poisoned because of the Syria stuff. Putin has such a Byzantine or Borgia-like sensibility that it seems like something he would do.

After that, President Biden will boycott the Olympics.

Of course, everyone is always safe at the olympics!

I think that bands of gay people (and straight friends) should go to their area airport at the international arrivals building or terminal where Russians are arriving to this Country and be greeted with Rainbow waving flags.
