Why concentrate on the man? How about questioning the sexuality of some of these sleazy skanks who dress in bikinis for the benefit of the sleazy straight guy fantasy? Some of them are no better than whores who use their sexuality as a marketing ploy.

I don’t really care either way but I could swear the guy labeled his boyfriend appears in at least 3 of them(same guy he claimed to be in just one picture with and was the ex-boyfriend of his girlfriend…?).

I agree that sleazy straight guys put the “no Speedos” rule in place. They’re terrified of finding another man sexy, hence they’ve confined the Speedos notion to the segregation paradigm – ie gay men.
However, it’s also true that women have exploited this. Women on American beaches frequently wear bikinis, in contrast to their husbands or boyfriends. Women are therefore exploiting a homophobic double standard put in place by straight guys.
Don’t let women off the hook. They are contributing to a lot of double standards, including homophobic ones.

Well, I live in Australia and at least 50% of the men wear Speedos at the beach. What’s up with American men? Are they ashamed of their bodies? If there’s a place to be free and liberal with your body, it’s the beach.
I agree with the poster who said there’s a hypocrisy in how women dress as compared with men. It’s as if women are enforcing the double standard. You also see it in the way women choose to dress when they go to nightclubs. Usually, they’re wearing very little compared to the men.
