The first thing we thought of when we heard the allegations against Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash was, “What will that do business for the guys dressed up as Elmo in Times Square?!?”.
Apparently Mike Yerxa of 1 Girl, 5 Gays had the same thought, because he hit the Toys R Us in Times Square (a.k.a. the Center of the Elmo Universe) with a NewNowNext camera crew to find out.
Looking at these bedraggled red Muppets, though, they might be giving Elmo a worse name than Clash has.

Why is everyone so quick to jump on the “Clash must be a pedo because he’s gay” bandwagon? I know that the Sandusky case is still fresh in everyone’s mind but it’s been alleged that the “victim” was the legal age of consent when they were together. Forget for a moment that many take issue with the fact that there was a large gap in their respective ages…if he was legal then there’s no wrong-doing. Clash had a lapse in judgement perhaps, but who of us hasn’t?

@Gigi Gee: Because society still has that association, it is perpetuated by gay hating organisations including most religious advocates, loads of politicians and the complete right all over the planet.
Funnily enough the exact people who are statistically massively weighted child molesters themselves, it is also a cover.
The stigma is all they have left, because they are losing the fight, with better education and more moral and informed people they are collapsing, people are improving in spite of them.

That’s an odd statement. If he was illegal, it means no law was broken. It certainly doesn’t mean there’s no wrong-doing, and frankly I’m a bit creeped out by a fifty-year-old man who repeatedly “dates” teenagers.
