Australian taxpayers will be thrilled to learn they’re funding workshops for gay men on how to safely cruise bathhouses! The AIDS Council of New South Wales has four-week workshops that’ll teach participants things like how to “reject unwanted advances.” You can imagine some lawmakers are not happy about the use of funds, but when you strip away the propaganda speech, these programs are really just guides to safe sex, and shouldn’t we be encouraging that? Four-week workshops?? That seems a bit excessive for what boils down to a safe-sex education message that could be delivered in a ten-minute video. I think someone is getting carried away with exploring the etiquette of the bath house, and I’m frankly no more interested in funding that that I would be in funding four-week seminars on wife-swapping.

I’m always surprised that there are still people out there who don’t know that having unprotected sex with lots of strangers is a really bad idea. It’s like those people who still haven’t gotten the memo that cigarettes are bad for you.
