For not ragging on the guy because he chooses not to talk about his sex life in conjunction with his acting life. Who should wear the crown of thorns here? Not the bitter outer’s, thats for sure.

After all the “Rupert Everett is just a bitter whiny old queen” slamming that went down here a few weeks back, I think it’s clear that gay men in show business who make their careers their first priority should not be out and proud, unless they’re willing to settle for a drastic reduction in the types of jobs they’ll have to choose from.

Who cares if he’s gay or not? Why do we need to “out” a person for our own satisfaction? If he wants to be open about his sexuality, let him. If not, so be it. We should all respect each other’s privacy.

@fredo777: Did you notice that the dustcover is removable and semi-opaque? Pulling off the dustcover pulls off the underwear! I had no idea when I was glued to this book at Waterstone’s.

Ian, this isn’t about anyone needing to “out” him. He went on national television in the US and flat out looked at the camera and said he’s not gay. No one has to like that kind of lying to accommodate homophobia either.
And as for the “elf shoes” comment – everything that isn’t a sneaker or a flip-flop isn’t an elf-shoe. Try to shop like an adult.

Trust me, if that (not so) young man were actually his boyfriend, there’s no way Kev would be smiling at the camera like that. In fact, you wouldn’t even see those pictures, ’cause the paparazzo’s camera would have been confiscated and Kev’s people would have deleted the pics, as usually happens in such cases. Most likely that guy is one of his people, or just a friend.
As for the book, frankly, anyone’s eye, man’s or woman’s, gay or straight, would be caught by such a cover.
This is just a non-event, but that gay legend about Spacey must be reactivated at least every six months for the gossips’ mental balance, I guess. Sigh. :-)

He doesn’t hide his sexuality in London. In fact I was really surprised at him being allowed to do the American Airline adverts considering how much America hates fags. His BF is a little precious but smells lovely.
