How Staten Island’s 5th Graders Get Kylie Minogue (And Every Other Famous Person) To Sing With Them

Can somebody explain to me how the PS22 chorus in Staten Island scores every celebrity imaginable? Alicia Keys. Michael Phelps. Tyra. Beyonce. And just this month, child prodigy Greyson Chance and now Kylie Minogue, who performed “Put Your Hands Up” for the first time live with a bunch of fifth graders. All it takes, apparently, is choral director Gregg Breinberg (aka Mr. B) recording the kids performing their favorite pop tunes, uploading them to YouTube, and then letting the famous come knocking.

I hope she’s alright. Most celebrities get knee-capped when they visit Staten Island.
