The Regulars Comic, from Karl Hampe, is published every Friday on Queerty.
The Regulars Comic is a fun, snarky take on what might happen if a gay, urban attorney burn-out wound up running a coffee bar. It’s an irreverent weekly, web-based look at the silly, sexy, and enraging clash between gay pride and daily prejudice. Visit TheRegularsComic.com for more.

Hell build it for both places, I’m for as many gay businesses as possible.

Greg Gutfeld’s proposal to build a gay bar next to the proposed mosque is no compliment to gay people. It’s like Greg is saying to Muslims, “you sling sh*t at us (by building the mosque) and we’ll sling sh*t right back at you – “we” being Greg’s flung feces.
An earlier post, found on Queerty amongst other blogs, involved creating humorous and kitschy names for the bar. It was a bit ironic that some gay participates obviously didn’t realize that the logic behind the suggested bar is really a putdown of us
Want to really offend Muslims? Hold your nose and pack a bar full of gay men in the same vicinity.
This is not about tolerance! When has anyone affiliated with Fox News really and truly cared about teaching tolerance?

Strip down and get in that gogo cage Gutfeld! People want to see your red-eye!

@OrchidIslander:
Who cares? A person accidentally discovered pennicillian in mold. I don’t care about this guys reasons for opening the bar. If the Mosque is full of tolerant people like they claim, then they would have no trouble with the bar, if the patrons of that bar start getting harrassed then they aren’t.
The basic motive for this is apparently to prove that muslims aren’t tolerant although they are telling people to be tolerant. The way for them to embarass and humiliate this guy are to prove their tolerance. What should offend you more than this guy building a gay bar there to upset them, would be if it actually does upset them.

I say get in their face every chance we get. it’s an obligation to be obnoxious to bigots, and, let’s be honest, Islam is no friend of the gay community.

@declanto: True, but since most of its followers aren’t white, then somehow it becomes “racist” to criticize it for the same crimes as religions whose followers are mostly white.

@Queer Supremacist: That’s called “dèja moo”, meaning I’ve heard that bullshit before. Don’t get distracted by the flies, it’s still bullshit.

From my very personal experience, the islamic community is the most intolerant, repressive culture I’ve ever encountered. I get in their face when they get in mine.

I don’t see this as a big “eff you”…I see it is a big “Welcome to the Party” sign for the Muslim community. For far too long, and very much including today, there has been no reciprocity in the Muslim world. In Western nations, we offer tolerance and freedom, etc to the Muslim community. this is not even remotely reciprocated in Saudi Arabia, Iran, Syria, etc. If you demand tolerance to the point where a Muslim cultural center is build at Ground Zero of all $%@#@ places, fine. Then get ready to have tolerance demanded of YOU. This seems to me to be completely fair and the point is well taken. Equality doesn’t come from treating one group differently from all others. That’s patronizing. It comes from holding every group to the same standard…with tolerance and rights come expectations and obligations. Don’t like it? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
Personally, I am sick of talking about the Muslim community or the Jewish community or the Christian community. I approach all people as individuals with their own stories…not as a represenative of whatever background they have.

Guys, the Muslims in NY who want their cultural center are not the ones calling the shots in Saudi Arabia, Iran, etc. Some of them, possibly most of them, don’t want to live in those other countries because those countries are repressive.
