“I didn’t feel attractive in high school. I had self-esteem issues into my early 20s. I was a little overweight, I had skin problems”

SOUNDBITES — “I never wore full-on eyeliner in high school, but I wanted to. I wanted to wear nail polish so bad, but I was afraid to. I was afraid to express myself for a while. I didn’t feel attractive in high school. I had self-esteem issues into my early 20s. I was a little overweight, I had skin problems. As I learned to feel attractive from the inside out, my self-worth got better. [...] My life has changed so much, I’m not sure what my needs are anymore. At the moment, it’s probably difficult to have a relationship. I’m going to be doing a lot of growing in the next couple years. I’ve only been in two relationships, and really, really in love just one time. That’s one part of my life I’m learning about – my heart.” —Adam Lambert, on the past and future, less than a week before his debut album drops [USA Today]

Until you do some legendary Adam…I don’t care what you say….No doubt your fiending fans will, and some of them may think I’m the epitome of hate and evil for what I say, but they’re sychophants, you know that….

I know what all the words in the first post mean (except “fiending” which…is not a word) but arranged in that order? Incomprehensible.

You lack a sense of artistry, or humor, but probably both.

Do you understand that?

Perfectly, but that does not make the series of sentence fragments you shat out on-screen earlier any less gibberish.

BTW, what constitutes “some legendary Adam”? Or are you perhaps trying to say “someTHING legendary, Adam” and lost the sense of artistically using the complete word that you meant along with some semblance of correct punctuation?

Adam,

And why were you afraid to wear your eyeliner in high school? And why were you afraid to wear nail polish? And why do you feel better about yourself now? Could it be that you afraid of being picked on for being gay, and now you are out and more comfortable with your sexuality? THAT is a large part of OUT magazines “Agenda” that you were so dismissive of.

Ha ha ha courier, that line doesn’t get any less funny no matter how many people used it years before you did. I sure do remember the chuckle it gave me when it was said on Queer as Folk like nine years ago!

Adam still has “self esteem” issues. Unfortunately, he doesn’t realize they’re still dragging him down.

Read the interview itself he gave in OUT. Hates gay people, hates gay life, straights are better. Shit.

He is still pudgy with skin and self esteem problems. Baby, aint much changed! If he tries covering Johnny Cash again I will set him on fire myself and this all will be a moot point.

OK, now I officially hate QUEERTY and the nasty, bitter fags who post on it.

you know, no wonder more gay men don’t come out in public. it’s because other gay men DON’T SUPPORT THEM. they trash them and criticize them and make fun of their looks, attitudes, everything. they get all PC and tell them how they should be perfect gay men. and if they’re not good looking enough – watch out.

Who needs the religious right to destroy our community? We have you guys!

Dismissive Cam? Where exactly? His interview wasn’t gay enough? Instead of singing maybe he should just Quit and take a year off to learn how to be sufficiently gay.

And I thought the Queerty commenters keep insisting the letter wasn’t against Adam but against RCA? Which we really know is bullshit.

Why don’t you ask the GAY PUBLICIST who actually committed the crime and was actually DISMISSIVE? Or is it easier to ignore that since it doesn’t fit your narrative?

Richard sez: “you know, no wonder more gay men don’t come out in public. it’s because other gay men DON’T SUPPORT THEM.”

Here I thought Adam was all “I’m post-gay” and “my sexuality doesn’t matter to me” so why does he need support from other gay men? Why should he expect that support automatically? Seems strange to hold the community at arm’s length while simultaneously expecting the community to embrace him.

I”m assuming that CAM was referring to Adam’s tweet in which he mocked the magazine’s agenda. But then again, you probably already knew that and just pretended not to so you could have your little fanboyfreak out.

No, Gina, the morons are in Salt Lake, but thanks anyway. Tell me Gina, how tall are you and how much do you weigh? Also, if you don’t mind my asking, how many cats do you have? We have a bet going on in here about Adam’s female fans that pounce on us vis a vis body fat to cat ratio.

All except for Swarm and Bianca. They’re honorary gay guys.

Adam’s fans really need to take a hard look at what Clay Aikens fans did to his career. Sure they were obsessive and bought multiple copies of his CD’s however, they also went around foaming at the mouth and attacking anybody who dared to not like their precious Clay. They so put off people, radio DJ’s, people who may have given his CD’s a listen that in the end they really contributed to his career stalling. Adam’s fans are going down exactly the same path.

Example, if I don’t like Taylor Swift or Lady Gaga nobody comes on and attacks me, name calls etc… If I hear a good song later on by one of those two, I’ll buy it. If I say something about Adam Lambert and a bunch of people sign on, attack gays, attack me etc… there is no way I’m going to buy anything he does after the fans have left that kind of bad taste in my mouth. So all you obsessed 15 year old girls coming on here in some sort of holy crusade to defend him need to take it down a notch.

@ Cam

That’s not really fair to you or the artist. Sure the fans may not be respectful but why limit yourself because of someone else being uncool? If you dug a Clay song (which I doubt you’d ever) than buy it no matter what the fans did to you. It’s not Clay who said remarks about you it’s his fans, which is really beyond his control.

And UGH to all the Adam threads on here. I used to get annoyed with Queerty and there BS, going on about Clay and how he’s over-publicized and they’d keep on putting posts on him and now I can’t get away from Adam threads. Blech.

whoa. I just read this thread. Really, such mean spirited people on both sides. Who cares if Adam has crazy fans, as long as they are respectful. And conversely, if Adam isn’t gay bashing, I say support him. The only LGBT’s I won’t support are ones who hurt others and maybe gay Republicans. I can’t understand that.

Scott,

I agree with most of your post. (The part about gay republicans I obviously can’t agree with though.) If you like an artist, you like him. The fans should have nothing to do with it. While I do watch American Idol every season, I’ve never been able to get into the fan rivalry bullshit. Oh, and yes, there’s way too much Adam on Queerty, but I doubt that will change because every Adam-related story gets lots of responses.

Scott, your point is well taken, I’m not talking about what is good in a perfect world. It is just that, if Adam says something that I do not like, and I post something about it, then have 100 rabid nasty fans come on the site and attack me, it is just natuarally going to increase whatever annoyance I had with the guy. Is it right or fair? Perhaps not, but if his fans go out on the warpath that is what they are going to do I think. They come on here, attack gays, the gay community etc… they are taking somebody who’s somewhat bad experience with OUT magazine would have blown over, and making it into a perceived full out attack on the gay blogs magazines etc… I just think that those fans are doing him a huge disservice!

Actually, I’ve noticed that there hasn’t been quite as many fangirls flying in with this latest gaggle of Adam threads, and they’ve been some of the most controversial threads. Maybe they heard we’ll say mean things to them, like call them fat? LOL

LOL!!!!!! Somebody on one of the threads said that there was an inverse perportion to how fat they were versus how many cats they had!. I think that pretty much shut down the discussion right there. LOL!!!!
