“I Hate War” Sez McCain

John McCain and his campaign have released a new commercial in which the Republican insists he’s against war. His family, of course, have been ravaged by aggressive endeavors, so he’s running for president to “keep the country I love safe.” In fact, he opens this 30-second spot thus, “Only a fool or a fraud talks tough or romantically about war.” Sure, McCain hasn’t romanticized war games, but he’s still too tough to consider diplomatic measures. Anyone smell a small contradiction?

He is a whore who will say anything to get elected. He changes his stump speech daily.

I don’t smell a contradiction.

It smells more like bullshit.

I love how the lighting is used to hide the huge growth on the left side of his face.

Why should we be diplomatic with terrorist? They want to kill us. I don’t think they are talking to their followers and saying, “I hope that they will negotiate with us because we want peace.”

My brother has been over there. They kill anyone who they even remotely think might not be in 100% agreement. If they wanted to negotiate a peace deal that would be different but they don’t.

And on a completely unrelated, frivolous side-topic, can we talk about how good-looking some of our politicians were in their younger years?

I wouldn’t kick Rumsfeld, McCain, Dubya, or even — God, help me — Cheney out of bed if they were in their 20s or 30s in this decade. As for John Edwards, I’d still tap that.

If we’re going to be in a position to decide whether to go to war or not, I want the lead decision-maker to be someone who really knows what war is like. I don’t want armchair quarterbacks who know it from newsreels and books. Better that McCain had been a ground-pounder like Sen. Jim Webb, but being blown up by bombs on the USS Forrestal and spending 5 and a half years in a brutal POW camp will tend to concentrate one’s thinking on matters of war. And, like Sen. Webb, McCain has a son in Iraq. Soldiers and sailors know that war is more than a geo-political concept. When McCain says he’s loathe to go to war, I believe him.

Saying he’s loathe to go to war doesn’t mean much, really. Everyone is “loathe” to go to war, but it doesn’t always follow that they opt out of doing so.

He keeps trying to change the subject from the economy to the war in Iraq.

He’s trying to scare Americans into voting for him by saying he’ll be better at stopping wars and stuff. It’s what the Republicans do; they scare people into voting for them. It’s such a pity it’s worked for them for so long.

McCain is almost as bad as Obama who wants to extend the war into Pakistan or ex-candidate Clinton who favors a nuclear attack on Iran.

The two parties of war, Democrats and Republicans, have the same agenda – steal Middle Eastern oil – and they don’t give a damn how many mulsims or GI’s die. Bill Clinton organized the mass murder of Iraqi children and babies and George Bush is Commander in Chief of the genocide of Iraqi children and adults, funded by Congressional Democrats.

Obama and McCain will carry on that gruesome tradition if enough people thoughtlessly vote for them. And that, in case you wondered, is why Nancy Pelosi adamantly refuses to impeach Bush or convene and International War Crimes Tribunal.

The idea of ‘phased withdrawal’ is the same bullshit line used by LBJ and Nixon to extend the war in Vietnam and they continued to announce troop withdrawals (but not redeployments) until the day their asses were run out of SE Asia.
