Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor’s I Love You Phillip Morris, which finally found a distributor after lingering on the shelf, suffers its latest set back: a release date, already bumped once, that now exists only in some vague capacity in the future tense. [LAT]

Too bad the conservatives distributors, and the movie houses are going to shelve it. No one has the balls to stand up to the shitheads and put it on the screen. Movies like The Birdcage and To Wong Foo… put some people off, but its those movies that make people think.

I am an American currently working in Dublin Ireland and I just saw the film today, yeah it’s showing in CATHOLIC Ireland (and without any controversy that I know of).
I found it very funny and touching with a great script, directing and performances.
There is ONE explicit sex scene early in the film between Carey and some random neighbor and only implied sex between Carey and McGregor (McGregor did a lot more in Velvet Goldmine).
The scene is not explicit for the sex or nudity, you see a hint of Jim Carey’s ass, the ‘explicit’ part is the line, spoken with particular gusto, ‘Cum in my ass!’ and the enthusiasm in which Carey does.
I think if audiences can get over the multiple frontal nudity scenes in ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshal’ and the ‘explicit’ sex in Brokeback Mountain they can get over the not really explicit sex in Philip Morris.
