‘Idol’ Not Bothered By ‘Faggot’

gsebastian.jpg
Australian Idol Guy Sebastian’s been called every name in the book, including “faggot”. The – um – heterosexually engaged singer, however, insists he’s not going to take it to heart:

He has been subjected to relentless gay taunts since he was crowned the Australian Idol four years ago, but Guy Sebastian reached a turning point after he was branded a “faggot” by a Sydney schoolboy.

I caught up to him and he was laughing like he was the coolest kid around,” Sebastian said, “I just put my arm around his shoulder and said, ‘Mate, that’s not only uncalled for but it’s really offensive and you could get seriously hurt if you said that to the wrong person.’ He was trembling and I didn’t want to be aggressive at all, I was just glad to have taken the moment away from him.”

But Sebastian, who recently became engaged to his long-term girlfriend Julie Egan, believes he has finally built up the necessary tolerance to handle the slander.

“I used to think it was just a part of being in the public eye, but really that kind of behavior is just not on – that line shouldn’t be crossed,” he said.

That’s right, girl! Oh, we mean, boy!

Well, good for him! there are a lot of straight men who are considered “effeminate.” If we type them, we’re no better than our enemies.

my brother is a gay man!

I love him dearly and I find the term faggot offensive – it is just a word I know – but the popular cultural meaning of it is, that it is a term of disrespect – a way to put someone down

for straight and gay people alike

In the Music Industry, Guy Sebastian would be surrounded by many gay people as they are very creative and a very strong element in the Arts

and I have to tell you I am female and Guy Sebastian is the least effeminate male I could ever imagine although he does have a lot of gay friends
