If 2 Hot Muscle Guys Strip Down on a San Francisco Street and Make Out, Is It Art?

We’re not quite sure of the purpose behind this video, but the tipster who shared it with us and says it’s two boyfriends making out on a public street in San Francisco. Yes, they end up nearly naked, so you might not want to watch at work. It is erotica? Is it art? Is there supposed to be some sort of “Look at us! We’re gay! And kissing! In public!” meaning behind it?

What do you think of this post?

I certainly doubt it’s supposed to be political. That street is in the middle of the Castro and across from a block named in honor of a drag queen.

Um… can I call total bullshit on never showing the bigger guy’s butt? I wonder if it has a swastika or a horrible scar on it or something. I’d have rather seen his than his bleach-twink friend’s.

It’s utterly unoriginal video art. If I were the professor of the community college Introduction to Video Art class for which this project was seemingly assigned, I’d give it a D. The only people who got offended in the making of this video are the viewers at home.

It’s an ad for the Castro’s Big Lady Day Spa. Specializing in: Shaving, Waxing, Arching, Bleaching, Spray on Tanning, Ladies Mani/Pedi’s for “men”, improper use of steroids, and the infamous Queenly Muscle Queen Deportment classes featuring how to kiss like a straight girl.

Not my cup of tea. Still, I’d rather witness this than the strung out junkie woman I saw today while walking to the J M Z Train in Brooklyn, who had her skirt hunched up above her waist, no panties on and was screaming “Motherfucker!” at every passer by and banging on car hoods.

“It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood, a beautiful day in the neighborhood…”

Personally, I’d be more offended that they were both wearing thongs. Do guys still wear those?

These guys work out at my gym – Gold’s in the Castro. I think it’s sexy and on the back side of the Bagdad Cafe.

Is it kinda sexy, yeah. But it’s also tacky to do that in public, I don’t care if it IS the Castro, and I speak as a former San Franciscan. There’s a reason why the Folsom St. Fair is closed off so kids aren’t going to see something like that. While true kids in the Castro doesn’t happen all over that often, technically if those guys exposed themselves to little kids in some strollers then they’d be listed as sex offenders.

The body language between the two says it all. Notice the dark haired guy keeps his hips rotated back to avoid full frontal touching. Then when they are stripped down to the thongs the bleached hair guy continuously moves forward to get closer and each time the dark haired guy moves back and away. They are usually close chest-to-chest but the dark haired guy prevents any close pelvis touching. Actors, hot ones though.

@simon: Being gay doesn’t give you the right to act sleazy in public, Simon, being human does. That’s the point of equal rights, we should be able to be just as sleazy, slutty, annoying, grotesque, bizarre or affectionate as any straight couple on the streets of America. It may send your hang-ups into overdrive and cause you to go home and call your mother to wheeze on about how disgusting public acts of affection are, but then that’s your right as an American. See how it all works?

I don’t think it’s a good idea. People tend to have a narrow view of minority groups and think a small few is representative of the entire group. They’ll accuse them of “shoving it down people’s throat” for sure. It gives bigots something to complain about. Im not into PDA in general, regardless of sexual orientation.

Lady Gaga also thought her bloody tampon dress was art, so I guess this could be perceived as art as well. Kidding 0_o

Bigots will complain about us regardless of our behavior. Just mentioning you’re in a relationship with someone of the same sex can be considered “shoving it down people’s throat.” Our job as humans is not to live our lives so that some people can feel comfortable about their bigotry.

Maybe I’m imagining things but some of the people walking by seemed to appear multiple times. My guess is that it was filmed with two cameras and they pieced it together out of sequence.

What really makes it look like San Francisco are the people walking past the couple, completely ignoring them, just like they do with the occasional naked guy on the streets, which you’ll see every so often.

I have an exclusive on this video. I approached one of the gentleman at Gold Gym’s in the Castro about this video being on Queerty.

They are releasing an undergear clothing line and the videos are to create buzz for their own line.
