I am a Ugandan who supports the Anti-Gay Bill without its provision for capital punishment. Uganda intervened in Rwanda & 1 million civillians died. Soon after that, Uganda intervened in Congo and 4 million civillians reportedly died. I am not sure that the Uganda Army is totally free from blame in all these deaths. Furthermore, in Northern Uganda, there have been massive deaths during the war in the last 24years – and the Ugandan Army was suppossed to prevent these. Murderous as Idi Amin was reported to be, such level of deaths & suffering did not occur during his reign.

Idi Amin, among his many murderous accomplishments, was also a cannibal. He thought eating his enemies made him stronger. Some history Uganda has. Uganda is a relatively small and fragile country. They can be made to pay a price for this legislation. Also, we should remember the participation of all those religious sects the legislator mentioned.

You are right, Uganda participated but the main slaughter was done by Rwanda. Thank you for clearing that up! I will dial back my point then to say that they only slaughtered thousands. at that time. As for Idi Amin……ugh, sounds like they almost wish he was still in power there.

Gee, whats more disgusting, the fact that some gay men exist in Uganda? Or the fact that just a few years ago Uganda slaughtered around 1 million people for being in a different ethnic group or being political moderates? Sorry Uganda, I tend to think that slaughtering a million of your own people is worse, but then again, what do I know, I’m just an evil western culteral imperialist who thinks that people shouldn’t be murdered at the drop of the hat.
