SOUNDBITES — “If you can tell me that heterosexual couples are able to feel and live with love more deeply than two people of the same sex (and substantiate your case) – I’ll suck your dick on national television. Now, before you get all hot about the blowjob, I get to counter you arguments. I will introduce you to Amy and Cindiman, Cheryl and Kate, Elisa and Megan. These are six women I’m very lucky to have in my life – and they’re lesbians.” —Blogger Erika Napoletano’s very special offer to Andrew Pugno, general legal counsel for ProtectMarriage.com who donated $35k to support Prop 8. Which is the appropriate non-emotional response for the guy who claims “nearly all of the [Perry] testimony has been strictly an emotional appeal to the court with testimony that, though moving, doesn’t relate to the legal issues.”

Actually, I believe that I have heard the argument (through NOM before) that Gay couples either do not, or CANNOT, feel love for their spouse to the same extent that our heterosexual coevals can and do! Obviously this has no basis in reality, and is a very old tactic employed to make it seem “more natural” to subjugate and vilify a given minority for being “different”. One wonders, however, if this “claim” (bogus as it is) results from how str8 society perpetually sexualizes our relationships and the mere fact that ANY knowledge is “an adult issue”, whereas with re: to Het. weddings, it’s all about da’ love and da’ commitment!

Really, Erika? Great!
“heterosexual couples are able to feel and live with love more deeply than two people of the same sex (and substantiate your case)”

The Gay marriage haters are playing the Gay slut card. That all Gays want to do is have mulitple partners every night of the year. They wish to portray us of incapable of having a “traditional” marriage like they pretend to have………..
The rightwing nutbag lunatics of course have the lock on strong, loving, “traditional” marriages. Like Vito Fossella the NY congressman who was so “offended” by the long term commited relationship his Sister had with her partner and their kids, he refused to attend family functionns where she was present. Then this scumbag was pulled ova for DWI, bailed out by a woman who suprisingly wasn’t his wife. Turns out he was such a huge supporter of “traditional” family values that he went out and made himself two families…..His wife and two sons in NY and a second family with a daughter in Va. How bout Mark Sanford’s forays on the Applacian trail, or Newt Gingivitis bringing his cancer stricken wife divorce papers on her death bed? They all need to do some serious sucking……….

Au Contraire, Monsieur. I have been accused, on more than one occasion, of monopolizing these threads. lol

But here’s the thing: Is there a “love” test for straights to get married? No.
