If Caldwell was white then I would be worried. It is no secret that Obama is courting black religious folk. Obama creats dialogue about homophobia, more than I can say about Hillary or Edwards. They wouldn’t dare mention gay issues in front of a white evangelical crowd. Obama is to be commended for doing so in front of a black homophobic religious crowd.

I think he acted quickly, sensibly and honorably. He says his megachurch (4,000+ members) has all kinds of links he doesn’t know a thing about and I believe him. It does no good to dwell on this shit. He did a dumb thing, we called him on it, he reacted the right way.

He says:”…I’m embarrassed from the standpoint that I should have known.”

Note he doesn’t say he’s embarrassed by the link to the “ex-gay” program, only that he didn’t know about it.
