Ignorant Facebook Statuses, Texas Style

The anti-Obama Facebook phenomenon is really getting out of control and, luckily, some ignorant crazies are being forced to pay the consequences. Meet Buck Burnette, a football player for the University of Texas and blatant racist. Shortly after the election, his status read: “all the hunters gather up, we have a #$%&er in the whitehouse.” Classy guy, that Buck.

As you can imagine, coach Mack Brown kicked him off the team immediately. Buck then issued an apology that was obviously not written by him.

Whoever wrote this article is an idiot. You have no idea who this guy is and you sure as hell don’t know anything about Texas.

Texas, the land of steers and queers. Oops I’m truly sorry, I didn’t mean to say that. Please accept my sincerest apology.

He got what he deserved. He is lucky he is not getting investigated by the secret service for inciting violence toward a president elect. To “R”, yeah we do not know this guy, but there is no way you can defend his comment. I grew up outside Houston and while some people are lovely, there is also alot of deep seeded racism deep in the heart of Texas.

upon reading the apology letter, i’m pretty confident it WAS written by him.

in response to R’s comment, i am from texas and don’t understand how the article’s author is an idiot. there are certainly people like the one in the picture that write things like he did.

For the first time, I am impressed with Churchill-y. He made UT’s football team! But now he’s kicked off the team. Well, I guess that’s more free time to write ridiculous screeds on Queerty!

To Buck Burnette and the rest of the Racist idiots out there, “get over it”. This is 2008, not 1955. And the actions you speak of, can also be done to you.. It’s obvious this guys is an idiot. Maybe the folks he hates of another race on his football team ought to give him something to think about. If I was one of his team mates, I’d put my fist in his mouth. But what more can you expect from an idiot.

ok first of all i think all of yall need to calm down because he made a mistake. everyone who sits on these things & bashes him makes you no better than he is for doing so. also how can you judge his character if you don’t know him. people makes mistakes everyday & say stuff they think will just create shock value for their friends. so many people today say things without really thinking. he’s already suffered enough. so why sit here & make yourself look ignorant by talking trash about him.

@TEXASGIRL: Actually, I’m a lot better than him. He’s IN COLLEGE – an institution of higher learning. At some point, he may want to learn something about the world, don’t you think? Why do you want to make excuses for someone like that? I can, in fact, judge someone’s character when they call for the killing of our president and use a racist slur against him. That’s ample evidence for judging character.

Perhaps Texasgirl could give us a dissertation on the character make-up of Harris & Klebold of the Columbine High School Massacre before we lower ourselves by judging them?

After all, they also suffered enough with the taking of their own lives. Why should we make ourselves look ignorant by talking “trash” about them?

He is a self loathing partly black man, just look at him. He’s got African heritage all over his face. Embrace your white side and black side and you’ll be way happier.
