They agreed to hear a petition from a man who is an astrologer, you mean. Religious groups petitioning hearings or inquiries is not such an odd thing.
To say they "turned to" him though implies that they were actively soliciting policy input – like the White House Office of Faith Based Initiatives.
My thought exactly Strump – also, when I was scrolling quickly through this and I thought it said INDIANA Supreme Court. I scrolled on, didn't read it the first time through and then it kind of "scared" me that when I actually thought it was Indiana, it didn't even surprise me! (that is how goofed up this country can be sometimes, so I thought "par for the course.")
and of course, animals DO have SS activities – surprising this is not known in India which in some areas is quite technologically and scientifically advanced.
