It's all been forgotten in a fit of modern day 'morals'. I think our granny's grannies were way cooler about live and let live. If it is any consolation (and it is'nt) the laws are far behind in many respects including adoption laws etc. Women are still asked to fill out the name of their father or husband in almost every legal document they fill in. Makes me grind my teeth anytime I have to fill out a form!
